You can sell on this site for a one-off fee. Commission charged is 2%. Ebay are rip off merchants so giving them a miss now

Not exactly Wullie. Ebay do charge buyers but they sneak it in as a 10% fee off the postage payment.

It's my opinion that this is not legal and needs a challenge. Ebay are not providing any chargeable service for that 10% they just take it because they can.

I say they charge because sellers add it into their PP charges.

But that aside the fact remains that ebid is loaded with dross football wise.

I list items from 1970 to date onwards for a month sometimes 2 months then its straight down to the tip.

I have even had the bloke from the tip phone me up to see if i want to buy them back.. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy .

Its time for someone with brains to start a UK site to rival EBAY

Ebid could be it. You pay 49.99 lifetime membership and no selling fees unless ypu add a picture that shows before you open the auction then you pay 2% pictures show on my auctions when the auction page is opened so I pay no fees...a bit different to 10% off ebay

tis true and ebid is nothing new, I used to list 1000s of items on that when it was totally free. I think in 6 months I had 3 or 4 sales. In fact my own auction site sold a lot more then that in that period.

Mind you ebid might not be raising to eBay but I do think eBay could be falling to ebids level they way the views are going. I'm having a fair few items end with hardly any views. If you don't get views on your items how do you hope to sell them. I get more views on some of my own site pages then I get on ebay listing the exact same items.

The whole point is if you don't want to use eBay then what are serious other options. Sports auctions . A good idea for valuable stuff but commission double that of eBay . And there is the wait.
ebid. Been around for some time but not making any impact. My guess is David Miliband will promise that ebid will be compulsory if he wins the next election. Confused Place an offers list on the forum Laughing Laughing
Really eBay has cornered the market in the same way as twitter and Facebook. It'll take something massive to change people's selling habits now.
