Wimbledon FC - Postponed & Abandoned Games

Hi Guys,

Following on from nearly completing my main collection, I've been looking at picking up any reprint or new print programmes from games that were postponed or abandoned. Someone kindly provided me with the following list of games. I'm not sure whether programmes were made for all these games. If anyone has any of these, I'd be interested to hear from you...

Was there a Wimbledon v Carlisle United programme from the postponed date of 16/01/1982 eventually played on 11/05/1982?

Hi There,

You're absolutely right. I forgot to say that these are the ones I'm missing, rather than a complete list. I'm not sure there was ever an insert / reprint though - do you know any different?

Their away at Bradford City 16/4/86 was abandoned (after 32 mins) because of waterlogged pitch. The game was replayed 8/5/86 for which as single sheet (10p) was issued in pale green though there is rumoured to be a white copy too. Both these games were played at Odsall as this was the time when Bradford City were 'in exile' following their tragic fire.

Personally I'm only after home programmes, but I'm sure this will be of interest to other collectors.

I've actually had a bit of luck with my wants, so have updated the above list.

Sorry, misunderstood!

You're right that the game was postponed. I have the original programme, but nothing for the 'replay'. I understand this was indeed played on the 11th May '82.

Would love to know if there was a New Programme, which apparently there was, rather than an Insert!

I've got spares of both the original postponed programmes lying around somewhere, although finding anything at the moment is a job in itself!

Do you have a spare copy of the Cray Wanderers programme in the London Senior Cup last season? I understand it was a freebie, but the club didn't have any knocking about when I asked.

Hi Bert,

The Club Shop managed to find both the Cray programme and the Wrexham postponed programme for me. The only AFC programmes I'm looking for now are the postponed Luton game, the two Met Police games (one SSC and one LSC), the Watford friendly from 2003 and the Supporters Direct Cup game against FCUM in 2007.

If you've got any of them I'd be very pleased!
