Hi Guys,

I've been reading this board for nearly 18 months, listening to you all provide hints and tips along the way. Many of you have also been very helpful in my pursuit of completing my Wimbledon FC / AFC Wimbledon programme collection, and I've even bought a few programmes from some of you.

My collection was based around programmes left to me by my late father, who supported Wimbledon throughout his life. I thought it would be great if I could fill in the gaps, of the programmes he couldn't get to over the years.

All my efforts were focused on compiling a website to be used as a resource by fellow fans. It's been an enjoyable process (even the scanning of 1000 programme covers!), and the collection is now close to finished.

Therefore, I thought it was time to show it off, so here it is:

www.wimbledonfcprogrammes.co.uk

I'd love to hear what you think.

Although I'm a big fan, I'm not an expert, so apologies in advance if there are inaccuracies. If anyone can fill in the gaps, or offer me further programmes to add to the collection, I'd be interested in hearing from you.

Thanks again for all your advice and help, and thanks in advance for any further thoughts you have on the site.

All the best,

Pete

Excellent site, have only viewed the site in text format without the flash input but first impressions indicate a fantastic site, with a lot of effort put into this already.

I will happily put a link on my site back to yours when I next log in.

Well done on a fantastic effort and I look forward to spending many a'hour looking through it.

Thanks very much - means a lot! There's still some bits and bobs to do, and some improvements I'd like to make. It's been great fun though...

An excellent site, I'd like to think my dcfc version will be just as good at some stage.

I was under the impression the Wimbledon's last game before they became MK Dons was v Derby in 2004, but your site doesn't suggest that?

Hi There,

Thanks for your comments - I'm sure you'll site will be far greater, I'm no expert at these things.

In terms of the last Wimbledon game, I suppose technically you're right. As a pretty devoted Wimbledon fan, I prefer to think of our last game as the last one of the 2002-03 season, the season before the 'move'. I guess it could be argued then that the last game was the Wigan game in 2003-04 which was the last at Selhurst. The die hard fans will probably say that it was back in 2001-02, once the move was confirmed and AFC Wimbledon were created.

I think what I'm trying to say is that everyone's perception is a little different! I'll stick to the end of 2002-03, as that's when I stopped watching the old team, and started watching AFC!

Cheers,

Pete

Congratulations Pete, as a fellow partial Dons collector it is a brilliant effort. As you have covered the rebirth of AFC Wimbledon to their eventual reinstatement in the League you would maybe need the last non- league season 1976/7 for when they originally joined maybe? Now the aways are a diferent matter!!It was interesting to see your angle on when Wimbledon died, For me I think the spirit stayed at AFC from 2002/3 and the head carried on in name only until 2003/4 until that membership only was usurped by MK.

Hello!

Thanks very much, really appreciate your thoughts!

I think it's only natural that the collection goes back in time from now on - I can't stop now! I'm pretty sure I'll add the 76-77 next, as well as some more Amateur Cup games too. If anyone has any of either, I'd of course be interested (although it might have to wait until pay day - just sorting the safe storage of this lot has cost a bit!). If anyone can advise me how much is realistic to pay for the Semi Final programme in '63 - Leytonstone at Highbury - I'd be interested to hear from you. They always seem to go for a few bob.

Of course if anyone has any of my current 'wants' list, which has dwindled to only 10 games, I'd be delighted to hear from you! Although I suspect I haven't been able to get them yet for a reason...

Cheers,

Pete

Morning All,

A whike back, Slightfold mentioned whether I'd thought about adding the final non league season (1976-77) to the collection. As the remainder if my collection is as complete as I can get it for now, I thought this would be a good time! Obviously the odd programme is available on various websites and eBay, but I wondered if anyone knows where I can get a larger more complete set?

Cheers!

Pete

Help yourself to any of the scans on my work in progress "holding" site ... http://www.wupgb.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Programmes:1976-77
