To Suffolk and a worthy testimonial match for Elmswell's Bendall brothers who, between them, had given 41 years playing service to the club.

To their credit, they asked for all proceeds to be given to a local charity.

12 page programme tells the reader everything they'd need to know about the two players and more.

Local rivals Haughley Utd provided the opposition to what the club hoped would become an annual event for charity.

26 years ago August 29th 1987

A german Bundesliga game between Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen. Large style programme

Reminds me of the old story of the most unpopular fan in Germany, who at every Monchengladbach game would begin that old terrace favourite 'Who do we appreciate' by shouting out give us a 'B' Smile

One of the latest additions to my collection is this 75 year old single sheet (stiff card type) for a Central League fixture between Blackpool and Bury reserves.

Full programmes were normally issued for reserve games but mid-week fixtures just had a single sheet with teams on the front, and in this example, a half time score board on the reverse.

77 years ago and the first day of the 36/7 season at The Hawthorns.

12 page programme includes a full page feature on the presentation of a solid silver casket and parchment scroll to Billy Bassett to commemorate his 50 years at Albion.

3-1 victory for Derby in front of a crowd of 30,219.

54 years ago (1959) and a charity match between TV All Stars and Stan Mortensens X1 at Blackpool’s Stanley Park Oval.

The TV side included Charlie Drake (shown as centre half in the programme Laughing ), Mike and Bernie Winters, Anthony Newley and Harry Fowler.

Blackpool had some of the usual suspects including Jock Dodds, Ron Suart, Brian London and Morty himself.

Tommy Docherty was the referee.

An advert laden 12 page programme was produced costing 6d.

42 years ago and a charity match in Yateley to raise funds for a local school's attempts to get a swimming pool built.

The ex-Aldershot players listed to appear mostly played for the club in the 1950s though one, Ron Hobbs, had played before the war.

12 page programme issued costing 10p - the notes state that the club had printed 4,000 programmes for this game so I imagine it's not particularly rare!

Looked up Yateley - given it's a town of over 20,000 people, it's odd there doesn't appear to be a local football club of any note. In 1971, Yateley FC were playing in the Aldershot Senior League. Perhaps it's stockbroker country?

75 years ago (1938) and Blackpool’s first away match of the new season was against Portsmouth.

The fixture planners were obviously no different all those years ago as this was a Wednesday night fixture. I wonder if anyone travelled from Blackpool and if they did how long the round trip took?

A 16 page programme was issued and was another of those without the season, date or opponents on the front although judging by the ‘busy’ cover there probably wasn’t much room.

25 years ago and the first competitive game since 1974 for the reformed Bradford Park Avenue against Salts Reserves.

Informative 16 page programme issued though the green typeface on white paper makes it an awkward one to read.
