I love Blackpool.

I went for my holidays to Blackpool every year from the age of 5 until i was 15.

Great great memories.

I went every year to the programme fair when it was held in the supporters club.
That was in the days of great conversation and busy programme fairs.
I actually picked up some rare "small" trophy games between Blackpool and United at these fairs.
The likes of Lancs cups etc

As we often went on holiday in August there was often a pre season friendly that i was taken to.
I love the style and positioning of the ground as well.
I remember when there were tunbleweeds behind one goal.
So sad but things have got better.
I still enjoy a drive to Blacxkpool and i like to have a meal in the new casino overlooking the ground

Yes treble, they were top programme fairs and I also managed to usually pick up a few choice items, something that rarely happens for me these days.

I remember when Matt Busby used to take the team to the Norbreck Castle for a few days training.
And Stanley Matthews used to run along the beach to get fit.

He would run along so the water lapped up against his legs.
Nowadays an aethiest could walk on that water but i still love the place.

I remember about 25 years ago doing a fair at Manchester City on the Sunday and Blackpool the next day. Although the takings were not great punters used to come in with stuff to sell.
Including half a dozen Pre War Blackpool (Beautiful covers) and a ruck of Wartime.

Blackpool is where i met my first wife at an Blackpool v Albion match in 1975, that was an expensive match (Im still paying).
I got thrown out of the hotel where she and her friends were staying.
It was by the owner who was the Ex Villa + Birmingham Goalkeeper Colin Withers. Nod Nod

So that's where you got the Blackpool v Manchester United friendly from 1939/40 that you sold me for a kings ransom in 2002

Is that proper North Shore or central which gets called North Shore. Laughing

treble has a problem with people who punt their doubles on ebay and accuse them of running a shady business. But of course he started out at the very top of the tree buying 10,000 programmes and selling them with no learning curve whatsoever.

I do think a lot of the attacks on Red are uncalled for although it's just a pisstake and he's not a bad lad and doesn't get shirty.

I am not sure where you get the idea i have a problem with anybody who sells doubles on ebay.
I have no opinion of any value on anybody who sells anything on ebay.
Equally i have no real opinion of anybody who buys on ebay and tries to sell elsewhere such as on forums like this.

I do have an amusement when i see people buy on ebay for a quid or thereabouts and try to sell elsewhere for plus 10 or 15p.
It must be worth it i suppose to some but you can understand,i hope, why i shake my head in amusement.

Many collectors at all levels often have to buy a significant amount of programmes to get just a small percentage for their own collection.
We/they then all have a headache of how to get rid of the shit.
Shit is indeed what most is in the current market.
I personally split my shit between ebay and local charity bundles.

I understand regular dealers can use their shit at programme fairs.
There is often a box of 10p,20p,50p and £1 programmes.
It helps pay the rent and cost towards their expenses.
That makes sense.
It also possibly brings people into the hobby.
A young kid can buy 10 programmes for a quid and most dealers will often hand over 20 for a quid

But when people actively go on ebay to try to buy for 99p plus postage to try to sell for say £1.45 it makes me wince.
Maybe i am odd!!

How do you know they are doing that? unless they buy from you,you don't know the identity of buyers. I have only sold programmes once and that was some Scotland programmes to Red,I found him difficult to deal with but i've come to realise that his manner is different from most but there is no malice in him. You get peoples backs up but I think maybe it's just that a conversation on a forum doesn't always come off the same as a face to face conversation.
