Fair point Cossie regarding a picture of the reverse,I will endeavour to add a picture of the reverse side right away.
As for the chap who took offence at my large caps I'm sorry I've ruined your day sir! |
You didn`t ruin my day, Chelsea managed that lol !
My criticism was more of a grammatical observation but sorry if I caused offence.
Good luck with the sale. |

Fair play to the seller. I'd certainly have a punt if I was a collector of either club. You can always keep a 'perfect replica' next to what is left of the real thing
I like the excitable description and the capital letters, these programmes are exciting and exceptional pieces, why not make the ebay auction more exciting and descriptive!!!
The seller is welcome to list early 1990's Crystal Palace programmes for a quid! |

I would say its incomplete and no mention anywhere in the description.
So far it has 42 Bids and one bloke has bid 28 times , looks like one of his mates is bummphing it up. |

Well someone likes it cos 1 person has put in a very high bid to start with, and the other is just gradually increasing his bids/ could be someone buping it, could just be 2 people like it, either way its not affecting anyone but the bidders so lets not speculate about shill bidding shall we _________________ FPC Predictor Cup Winner 2013

If you're bidding I can understand your concern, if not, who cares. _________________ FPC Predictor Cup Winner 2013

Maybe not, though - I know I've been guilty of placing 5 or 6 bids on the same item in less than a minute.
Usually when it says I've been outbid. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/derby1884/sets/ |

Here we go again!
Having been accused of this on here before this is not a shock.
The Guy who placed those placed those bids bids on virtually all the items I put on ebay and always in this fashion bidding up in tens or twentys.
He has only ever won two of my items bidding this way and has bid on probably 100 items.
I don't know why he bids like this but am I supposed to ban him from bidding because of it?
Why would I let everyone on here know about the item as soon as I listed it knowing full well the schill bidding police will be scrutinizing it from then on and then get somebody to schill bid on it as I am being blatently accused of by my friend Bazza.
There are a few members of this forum who seem to thrive on throwing accusations around on an almost daily basis,if there accusations were concrete then they would be of help to us all but it seems to me that most of the time they love to speculate about these things and it's bang out of order. |

If Barry put a few rare items on ebay he'd probably find out that different people have different bidding tactics. As i've found out, getting 20 bids from somebody with zero feedback can be genuine. |

The feedback number of the underbidder looked familiar as he was bidding on a couple of my items at the moment.
I can confirm that he is, indeed, a genuine bidder who has purchased a couple of high priced items from me over the last couple of years. |

Well sorry for thinking this a message board forum for chat and discussion.
A message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages..
A discussion forum tree-like in structure, the forum can contain a number of subforums, each of which may have several topics. Within a forum's topic, each new discussion started is called a thread, and can be replied to by as many people as so wish.
PS.. Oldbolt In thirty five years of dealing I have never been lucky enough to come across any rare programmes to put on ebay.

I'm surprised you call that as shill bidding then. The bidder has plenty feedback and has bid on many other items
If I put something rare on at a low starting price it can often be bid up in small amounts. As a seller I don't want that because it can fuel suspicions.Perhaps the bidder knows that and uses it as a tactic to put other bidders off? |

Very cunning if this is the case...
Maybe he has an addiction to 'place bid' button _________________ Nuts and Bolts Web Design

If E Bay were so concerned about shill bidding then surely they could develop some software to root out such activity at source? |

They already have but this only works for bids coming in off the same IP address or if ebay have proof the bids are coming in from a family member/relation. It is much harder to prove where bids from friends are concerned or dealers that simply get together and ''help each other out'' even though they are 200 miles away from each other. Much harder to prove - but blatantly obvious to anybody with half a brain. |

They are having a chat and discussion ... they are chatting about why they think your accusations are incorrect, and have put their opinion across well. Don't see what problem you have with their posts really? |

28 Bids in 15 minutes by the same person is shill bidding in my book. |
Particularly as he increased his bid by £50 each time all the way up to £950 - and then increased the bid to £999!!
Nobody bids £999 unless they are just trying to push up the bids.
Serious smells for me. |

In answer to your question, yes you should ask him to stop doing this.
If you look at the other main collectables on ebay (records and books/comics) only one other item at the moment has more than 44 bids (out of about 600,000+). That is a Duft Punk album, when you look at the sellers feedback and the bid history on those items he has sold the three sales you can track are for very different items and have multiple bids from the same buyer.
You list some nice stuff but everything you put up gets multiple incremental bids that don't seem to apply to any other seller, even those who list quality items at 99p.
It may not be shill bidding but it looks like shill bidding and that's why I don't bid on any of your items.
Sorry.. |
