I thought Clydebank didn't start to issue regularly until 1972/73 season, just the odd special before then.

Therefore their first league issue might have been against Stirling Albion on 2nd September 1972.

Stevie McAneney (Bankie Boy on this forum) will be able to confirm this information. He can be contacted via his website

PS: Anyone with any pre-1970 Stenhousemuir homes for sale? My wants list is up to date. Top prices paid.

There were 2 large format issues for games v Celtic on 8 Sep 71 in the SLC and the previous season v Dundee U in the Scottish Cup in January 1971. Both we large format red on white glossy issues and are easily available for about £1 upwards. I have a copy of Clydebank v Dumbarton on 1 January 1972 which is an 8 page black and white issue which I believe is the 1st time they issued for a League game. It only cost me £1 too.

I gathered most of the info from the Clydebank progs website., which is excellent.

Your right Cardiff55 , the Dumbarton game in Jan 72 was the first issue for a league match, the two cup games are official as well, the first programme for Bankies was the Chelsea friendly(Blue one) in 67.
Thanks for the kind words re. my site I'm working on it all the time and adding new bits to it every other week.

Stevie

Stevie, i still find it fascinating that the club, and other Scottish clubs, only sporadically issued. i collect Stirling and they missed 64/5, the year they won the 2nd division, and even in the 60s issued for about 2/3 the games.

Great site by the way.
