I've decided that I want to get rid of my collection of Arsenal programmes. First thing I'm going to do is scan them so that I have a copy of them.

With a bit of luck I'm hoping to shift the pre-1960s stuff and the odd post-1960 ones that have a bit of value on ebay.

However, most of the 1960s onwards programmes will be nigh on impossible to sell. Rather than stick them in the recycling does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do with them?

Then there is the problem of the handbooks and books....

My house will feel like the size of a mansion when they've all gone Very Happy

Why not put the ones you cant shift in a safe place ,spare bed room, attic just in case you get the urge to start collecting again a little further down the line ....it dose happen ?.

A couple of options:
Auction, may get a few quid back.
Rather than recycling how about a charity shop?
How about listing on here? No fees!
Good luck

nozer, that's the main reason that I want to get rid of them - the space they take up. I had to take them out of the loft when the ceiling started bowing!

it depends whether you are looking for any return on them or not. If not then a charity shop will love them or even ask if your local hospital would want them. Other options are car boot sale or put them as a job lot into the next sports auction with no reserve.

Hi

I think your best bet is hand em to a good auction house, you will get shafted on Ebay with a bulk lot but auction house bulk lots tend to go a bit higher.

But it is hard with London Clubs as they printed so many

good luck either way

How about donating some of the more common ones to a local school? Get some new blood into the hobby!

Buy a billy bookcase from Ikea and a load of binders and have an altar to the mighty Arsenal like I have. If you have a spare wall it takes up no space at all.
If you are selling, the aways per season sell quite well.
If you are listing on ebay please put up a link to your sales so I can have a bid on some.

Why dont you give them Robin Van Persie as a leaving present,
Or store them down your moms, you may regret getting rid of them in a few years time

Oh come on guys, I want to get rid of them. Stop trying to make me feel guilty otherwise I'll keep them and never be able to get the car into the garage!

Some good suggestions. I'll mull them over. Many thanks to those who replied.

An interesting subtext to this thread is the reality that don't bother buying modern day programmes as they will be worthless fairly soon and just take a lot of space especially given the size of most of them today. However if we don't encourage buying today's programmes then we won't get new or young collectors. A real catch 22 for the hobby.
