Post subject: Creating a website

I see that some other forum members have created their own websites. Never having done this before I need some advice as I am considering creating a website to publish the results of research I have been doing on a late relative.

All my data is presently is Microsoft Word format laid out in Chapters, as in a book, - approx 120 pages with a load of photos still to scan in as well. I have MS Publisher 2007 but I have never used it.

Another consideration is that a lot of my material has come from Newspaper articles (from approx 1920 to 1960's), some magazines and other published books so would there be any copyright issues? I am planning to list and credit all my sources but I was not planning to go to each of them first to ask their permission.

So before venturing forward any help / advice / guidance on how to achieve my aims, which host to use given the amount of space that I will require (preferable free or cheap but easy to use) etc would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi.
As I have no web skills whatsoever I am using Weebly website builder. You can find it here http://www.weebly.com
There is no restriction on the amount of pages or pictures you can create. (Good job as I have uploaded a silly amount)
My site is here. http://www.bristolroversmemorabilia.co.uk/index.html
The best thing about Weebly is that is is free as well.
Hope this helps you.
Cheers, Jamie.

I agree with pastpirate. I have created my website with weebly and it is incredibly simple to use, which is a good job as I am nearly computer illiterate!
