Wow, imagine this will go for a great price. Perhaps a few of the forum members will also be in the hunt.
Lovely item.... _________________ M.O.T

They normally fetch between £1000 and £1200.
It will be interesting to see where the market is.
Very little is known about this season.
The Manchester United museum has nothing much in the way of programmes or even information.
Everybody away in France getting slaughtered
It was a war league Lancashire section and had as well as Manchester United,City,Liverpool and Everton there was Rochdale,Stockport,Southport Vulcan,Port Vale.
This is a very rare item which is more or less a stand alone as i am sure the whole season is not out there.
Who will pay the most for it then? |

already has been, the one with 1498 feedbacks who has also commented on this post-made 2 bids already with days to go as against their usual last minute snipe-wonder why that is? talking it up on here and asking who will pay the highest price ??. |

I have just had a think about some of the earlier postings and in the words of a Liverpool manager "these are the facts"
I have indeed made a bid which was in effect just marking it as my bid had no chance of winning at my price.
For reasons that are my business alone i will not be bidding on this item.
After that it appears i have annoyed(yet again) somebody who looks like he has the intention of bidding on it and doesn't want it "talking up".
As i said these are the facts.
I own some programmes from a similiar era that are on my flickr site and i bought privately in the region of £1000/£1200 each which i considered a fair price at that time.
I am now interested to see what the current price is.
I am not talking it up(or down). It was just a genuine observation.
If i wanted to talk it up i could have pointed out that a Manchester United v Blackburn Rovers programme sold at Robert Adcocks auction in February 2010 for £1500 plus commission(approx £1700) although the seller after commission would have received only £1300 approximately.
Now that is talking it up.
However this is the way i do my buying off people who don't know or are not sure what they have.
I have always used a policy of tell people the true facts and explain your line of thinking.
Give them time to think about what you have said and verify it and they usually come back and thank you.
They then tell you their line of thinking and their decision which i can usually respect no matter what that is.
Everybody stays friends and i usually get recommends if there are any to be had.
A nice way to portray this or any other hobby, in my opinion, but as always my way is not the way of others. |
