Ive just read this book.

I enjoyed it, although there were a couple of odd things that didn't ring true.

Have you read it? What did you think?

(Apologies if this has been covered previously. Im still a newbie).

Read it a few months ago and loved it.
Felt for him having to choose like that.
Would hate to have to do that to my collection.

I also enjoyed reading "32 Programmes" by Dave Roberts and followed up by getting his previous publication "The Bromley Boys" which also turned out to be a worthwhile publication, particularly if you have any interest in non-league football.

I might take a look at that. I admire anyone who supports the less fashionable option.

I remember reading Fever Pitch when it came out, and the author went on at lengths about his love for Arsenal, despite being born and bred in Reading. And his justification was 'Reading would never be a top club'. That's balls.

Reading it now (almost finished). It's a fun and very quick read. Very enjoyable. However - the premise of " only 32 programmes" is ridiculous... I managed to bring a few thousand when I moved to the USA.... You just have to do it a few at a time and have a family who will keep them in their loft for you until they are all moved! Plus a move to the USA normally means a much bigger house for your money so there is even more room to store them. Also my wife knows how much I love my footy stuff so wouldn't even think to try to make me get rid!

Still a good book though!

Have to agree, a brilliant read and can see many of these traits within myself......

Although I would rather leave the misses behind than my collection!! Nod

Yes. I noticed things about him I see in myself. It was funny and self-deprecating.

One thing for me was the only 32 programmes idea. It was an artificial constraint on which to base the book, and wasn't very believable.

I also think he'd have much more than 1,000 progs to be honest.
