Hi Guys Gals (if any) and Sun readers,

The debate on this programme will probably go on for ever,

Have got 3 of these and was going to list one on ebay, so was checking them over and weighed them and found one was 127g and the other 2 were 135g (the 127g one is about 1mm shorter than the others) so then checked on ebay and also browsed the internet and found that all the programmes I found state the correct weight as being 130g, well mine are all original (you can tell that by the paper colour when looking at them from the side),

So was wondering at what point in time did 130g become the correct weight?

also if there are any other collectors (&/or dealers) who have one any chance you could weigh it and post the weight of it on this thread to compare,

Cheers..........

well you are only a few grams out ( less than the weight of a penny) so i wouldn't worry. The reprints weigh much less than that.
Try weighing some other identical programmes you may have and see if they weigh different to each other.

127g is the reprint done in 1966 after the Final. All the other reprints weigh quite a bit less, i'm quite sure my original weighs 133 grams but not all scales are totally accurate

On our brand new digital scales, I'm happy to say mine weighs in at 130g.

Hi Wullie, yeah your right, got 2 of the 1966 tournament brochures and just weighed them and their different too (135 & 140g) so theres definitely a discrepancy in the weight of the original final programme.

Hi Cossie, the 1966 reprint, I presume the pages are the same (colour) when looking from the side of the programme (as its a reprint)?

As long at it meaures 17.8cm x 22.8cm it should be an original as the 1966 reprint done about 2 weeks after the Final was 22.6cm long and all the other reprints are smaller than the original, the only difference with the 1966 original and the 1966 reprint done in 1966 is the size as far as i know, the reprint with the orange cig box stripe on the back was done much later

John Cookman's Centre Spot website gives a very good review of what to look for when buying the 19066 Final.

http://www.btinternet.com/~j.cookman/cpindex.html

However, the information does not cover weight matters Shake
