Have all Everton collectors seen this lot: http://www.byrnesauctioneers.c.....it+now.y=0
They might just go for a bit more than their estimate

Fantastic progs, surely of such historical importance to Everton that the museum/Everton collection purchased these?

not purchased by the club or an Everton collector either.
They'll be off to Eamomn for a bit of restoration work and then back on the market.
Interesting the old cellotape on the spines
Were they out of a bound volume and if so where's the rest?

No, not out of a bound volume. Mostly in fairly good order although the inside fold was missing from the Wolves one..

I know who purchased them but it's inappropriate for me to comment who it is (it wasn't me).

Alas it wasn't a Blue who bought them (not that I didn't try...) Surprisingly Mr. France didn't bid (or if he did it was on the internet).

But at least I got to see them - £2,500 was too far for me (I won't tell you how much I would have had to pay to win tho)

See lots 0553-0558 in Sporting Memory's auction 17th February, wonder what they'll achieve this time round? Not sure where the seventh one is?

It will be very interesting to see where they go price wise.
On the one hand they are well exposed at the price they were originally sold for only a few weeks ago as everybody on this site had the opportunity to pay more but obviously declined.
The fact that a dealer was allowed to outbid the collectors on this site means it makes it more interesting for a neutral such as myself to see what happens next.
On the other hand Sporting Memory's has a superb client base and is very capable of making a substantial profit
i will watch with interest
