Absolutely tragic news. RIP and absolute sympathy to his family.

Does make all the bickering about programme prices and dealers vs collectors seem quite pathetic.

Apparently no indication of he had this in mind Saturday but hung himself some say. 42 years old no age at all, seemed a decent bloke, decent manager and player before that. Wonder what got in his head ?

Shocking news,poor family. I noticed a lot a signed photos now appearing on ebay asking for silly money. Some people have no shame, trying to make a bit of money out of a tragic death. They are a disgrace to the hobby.

RIP a true gent and a Leeds utd legend. Week in week out he used to give 100% for leeds. Used to go to the training ground and watch them train in my younger days and he would always stop for a photo or autograph. A fantastic professional

Sorry guys but i thought i'd like to give my condolences to Gary Speed'd family. I was at the Liberty Stadium today and we found out about 45 mins before kick off. Even though he never played for Swansea everyone around the ground was gutted. He was a roll model for all professional footballers and a true gent, and he was really sorting out the Welsh football team. To be honest its hit us Welsh massively which proves what a top bloke he was.

RIP Gary, you will always be remembered in Wales for being a fantastic footballer and human being.

As a welshman I am totally gutted and am totally stunned by this, I only saw him and got several items signed from the norway friendly - such a lovely bloke...where to many are happy to ignore collectors he would sign for ages without a problem.

i had the privilege of meeting gary a few times when he was at leeds, he was always happy to sign autographs and have a chat, he will be sorely missed. r i p
