Burnley v Everton 58-59 - ebay £7
now require: 1x 57-8 (Sunderland), 58-9 (Portsmouth) for complete 57-70 aways (League and Domestic Cups) and 1x 85-6 (Luton) for complete 84-7 aways (I don't collect many other aways)
.. although in theory I might still want 201 aways (games Everton have won) but I'm not that fussed.. |

Burnley v Portsmouth 21/12/57 in "mint" condition this week for the princly sum of £2,realy pleased with this as this was one of the hardest Portsmouth aways in obtaining for my collection of Pompy aways for 57/58 season.
I payed somthing like £15 for one about twelve months ago that was in poor condition,so well pleased with that.
So it goes to show in this hoby it pays to be patient when looking for that so hard to obtain prog. |

After sending my wants list to a couple of other Wimbledon collectors a few weeks ago, one of them gave me an envelope on Tuesday evening containing a dozen or so, including a couple of rare single sheet / friendly games, and refused to take any money for them!!
Only 9 to go to complete all major competiton home fixtures back for 50 years now.
The search continues _________________ Newest programme wanted:

You know when you have one of those weeks.....
managed to knock off 6 of my wants this week!
Sheff Utd home floodlight friendlies from the 50's v Graz of Austria, Clyde, St Mirren, Hearts and County Cup v Barnsley.
And to top it off, a game from Hillsborough which was one of those "unknown programme" ones, Denaby v Stocksbridge Works from the early 50's.
To week, but not cheap! Don't tell the missus!

Denaby Stocksbridge - nice one Jim! Is that the 1 May 52 single sheet? Have you seen the 'Other games at Hillsboro' list done by the Sheff Wed Collectors Club. It was a few years ago with recent update? I suppose I ought to have put it in the book.
If you're doing nothing on Thurs at 8.00 get yourself down to the 'Anoraks'. Its the Wednesday Collectors Club at New Barrack Tavern Pensistone Road.
Can all the Programme Forum members attending ELR next week please remember to wear their White Carnations wo make themselves known.

Chris- yep its the SHCFA Senior Final-single sheet, printed on one side, its a little bit blurry but never seen it before, didn't even think it existed.
I've got a list of "others", but not sure if it's complete.
I can't do this Thursday coming as I've pulled an evening shift.
Don't know about the White Carnation. I'll have a t shirt on that looks like a piece of airline baggage! You'll know it when you see it. If approached I'll mention something along the lines of;
"I've got a rare one......" to which any Forum members can respond "But my name's not Manori!"

Managed to pick another one from Hillsborough this week, which I didn't have on my list, but a nice to have in the collection.
University Athletics Union v FA (Amateur)XI from 1969.
1 famous name on each side, Steve Heighway for Universities and future Wednesday hero Brian Joicey on the FA XI.

Now then Jim you take it steady getting all these obscure neutrals at Hillsboro.
Don't forget the anoraks at the New Barrack Tavern 4th November. Throw a sicky if you have to!
All the best, Chris |

I've managed to pick up my last 2 Hibs friendlies against English teams in the last few weeks, 54/5 at Leeds and 55/6 at Bury.
On to the Irish and Scottish non league friendlies now! |

Only needed four programmes to complete every home and away since 1964 (my birthdate).
Idlely browsing the net whilst X Factor was boring me senseless last Saturday, just taking the 100th look at Brentside this year..... and knock me over with a feather they have 3 of them in stock!
Instantly ordered them..... knowing deep down that all three would have surely been sold, and that the site hadn't been updated.
Phud.... that was the sound of all three hitting my doormat!!
Happy Days!
Just the one left to get...... |
