Lovely away win at Man Utd yesterday for Palace!
Usual badge available in four colourways as far as I could find. The stall sellers are mainly interested in selling scarves to be honest, so getting them to rummage through a bag of match badges to try and find slightly different colourways is not easy. But 3 for a tenner is still very fair. The lady on the stall nearest the cricket ground was the most helpful!!
As always if you literally visit every single stall and roaming badge board, then chances are you will find something very slightly different and this season it was the stall opposite the Wetherspoons pub )near Lou Macari's chippy). That stall had match badges for all the prem home fixtures for the season in the same style.
Tiny annoyance the date is wrong by a day, but then it's enamel and so would have probably been made months ago before the season started, ahead of the usual fixture changes!
No doubt over the coming months/years I will find something else for the game, maybe on ebay!
Happy collecting! |

If there was ever an indicator that matchday badge collecting was past its peak, then this years FA Cup Final is a big indicator
For the 2016 Final (Palace v Man Utd) I collected circa 130 different badges (if you include all the different colourways) in so many different designs from different sellers (and this was not including the plastic insert ones I often don't bother with)
For this years final I have pre-ordered one set of 10, but other than that, nothing seems to be out there.
I guess the narrow 3 week timespan between the semis and the final is not very helpful - production that quick is very hard in this country
But I also think less people buy and collect them these days - the scarf sellers don't bother having them - trading standards make what they can sell difficult, but mainly, people just aren't buying them like they did 10 years ago.
It makes it easier for me to pick up items for my collection when they do appear I guess! |

Last game of the season, Liverpool away, my badge haul (6)
Pleased to report that my old mate Joe is still selling his badges from next to the Paisley gates (from a little table now rather than on top of a bin!)
