At the age of 39 it's so sad to read of the passing of Sol Bamba, a giant of a man but a lovely guy too. Sol was born in France in 1985, and played for the land of his parents, Cote d'Ivoire, 46 times, between 2008 and 2014. He was one of Neil Warnock's favourites, the curmudgeonly manager said he was a better centre back than Van Dijk and many others. Wherever Sol went he was loved and admired and was always smiling. He lit his clubs up.

In the UK his clubs were

Dunfermline Athletic 39 games
Hibernian 75
Leicester City 52
Leeds Utd 51
Cardiff City 112
Middlesbrough 24

And he also played in France, Italy and Turkey and was coach of Adanaspor where he passed yesterday.

RIP big man. The big C got you. But you won't be forgotten.
