Today is the Birthday of Jimmy Murphy who was born this day in 1910 in Pentre in the Rhonda Valley.

This post is more about the man himself who was one of the greatest ever coaches, he was responsible for teaching those kids who became known as the "Busby Babes".

This is for any football person

Today 8th August marks the Birth Date of Jimmy Murphy in 1910 at Pentre South Wales. The Finest Coach EVER to have been at Manchester United. This is my tribute to Jimmy with all original items. Just click on the Photo.

Leslie, thanks for sharing your memorabilia relating to Jimmy Murphy. The man was certainly something of a footballing genius with regard to the way he produced great young players. It’s good to see young Bobby Charlton smiling on some of the photos . I remember Jack Charlton saying that our kid never smiled again after Munich. No counciling in those days. Those young players must have been absolutely traumatised by the tragedy, but they just had to get on with it.

The heading shot looks like it was taken by a garden shed! [img][/img]

Thie first photo with 3 players looks like United but the 2nd image is i am 99% certain is not. Do not recognise the location or the players or the kit. Where did the image come from with the 3 players?. Do you have this?. Thanks Leslie

Leslie, it’s a copy of some photos an Australian seller had for sale on eBay . It was some months back. I get the impression he just sells prints from his archive , but he might be worth contacting. He has got some really interesting stuff from football and the music scene. Once l start having a look at what he’s got that’s it for some time . Looks like he’s got thousands in his archive..Here’s the details:

Yes i know of him, i do not think he owns any of the images just reproduces them and earns without paying anything to who does own the copyright. Thanks for your reply.

That’s not good. I will try and delete the post, don’t want to give them free publicity. Perhaps you can do the same Leslie.
