So my old man grew up in Germany on British army bases. But spoke German as my grandma was Austrian.

Anyway he used to go and watch the travelling British teams when they played in Germany. We found a few old signatures with the full team, must have been around 1960’s

Sheffield untied vs Hannover 96 has the score (looks like they won narrowly)

The Luton vs Hannover one doesn’t, but I think the captain of England played for them at the time?

Don’t know if they are worth anything or just a point of interest for enthusiasts

Either way I thought I’d share them, enjoy!

Scoren, that’s a very interesting story did your dad play in the first team? I don’t think the programme is of great value but the autographs are collectible. Not a fortune, but as you said the value is not that important. I think the England captain that you might be thinking of is Joe Mercer, manager of the Sheffield Unt team. He left them in 1958 to manage Aston Villa . Syd Owen of Luton played for England, but don’t think he was ever captain. Most of that Luton team appeared in the FA Cup Final a year later which probably adds to their value. All the best.

Thanks for the info flaming pie! Yeah I think I got one off the names wrong…or my dad did. I think he just played for the youth teams but went to see all the matches.

And flashhat thanks for the interest but my dad has decided to donate them to Luton town museum for the new stadium! So hopefully people will be able to check them out there
