FA Cup Final 1967 – Rare rejected version?

This item is currently on ebay and is open to bids with the following description:

" You will never ever see another one! This is the only ever copy I know in existence, this was going to be the original colour of the programme but Wembley rejected it and went for the standard one which is going with this, they were sent for approval by the fa but turned down and they destroyed the others, this was the only one I know off that survived so this is a must for all you rare collectors I bet 99 pc of you didn’t know it existed! And I was one of them !!!! This would be mint but where it’s been stored for years in my collection it’s been creased on the corner as pictures no reserve so someone’s getting a programme which is rarer than anyone’s got! "

Can anyone confirm the above story or is it not just a copy that is missing the blue and red spot colours. Otherwise, how do you explain the Bovril advert?

I suspect it is a printers error as the words Final and Wembley can't be seen as they are on a white background, while on the standard programme they are surrounded by colour.
Still if you collect finals it's a nice rarity to add.

Whilst we are on the subject of "rarities" I have an Everton v Sheffield Wednesday 1966 F A Cup Final programme with some blank pages and no printers name at the bottom of the back cover.

If the guy who bought the 1967 wants to offer me £175 I may be tempted but is this a rarity?

I was surprised it went for £175 for what was essentially a printing error. Hopefully the buyer didn’t fall for the story of it being a rejected version by the FA.

Maybe the difference was that it involved the cover rather than just one of the inside pages.

I know Chelsea and Tottenham are collectable, but still!

I agree, the seller has sold some rarities of late which he states the reason for selling is due to ill health, he may have got better prices in a specialised auction
for those other items, this one I think he did okay.
He sold 23 Northampton homes yesterday for their only season in the top flight for £17 a give away imo.
1950 world cup final programme went for £315 which appears cheap to me.
However I note there are reprints of this programme dating back to 2006 so you never know, I didn't know that had been reprinted until I did a search.
I have him on my watch list to see what other items come up.
