Interesting to see if Chelsea are able to issue programmes for their remaining home games this season

The Club shop has been shut as part of their special licence and they are restricted in what they can spend on hosting games

It looks like they won’t be able to do anything which brings money into the club. I guess no programmes unless they give them away free of charge.

Agree with the previous post on programmes in that as long as the club don’t benefit they can be sold by a third party (ie publishers)

It’s a bit like Chelsea megastore is closed but you can still buy Chelsea replica shirts from JD Sports and merchandise elsewhere

The caveat to that is that “three” have stopped their sponsorship of the club so will not want their advertising / logo appearing on any merchandise such as programmes I’m guessing

Just a general point on Chelsea’s ownership, Years of over inflated salaries and transfer fees as a direct result of Chelsea becoming an oligarchs plaything has imo never been a great thing although as someone who supports local football teams my view will be biased

No sympathy from me but nice to see Nadine dorries pulling out all the stops by saying she will protect Chelsea and the “national game” yet the supporters of Bury. Derby. Macclesfield and every EFL club docked points were not afforded any such favours or leniency by the authorities despite the fact that a football club can be the lifeblood of the local community

I’m sure in time chelsea fc will be sold and get special dispensation with monies going to the clubs foundation but for now it pales into insignificance compared to the heartbreaking scenes from Ukraine

The clubs wage bill was rumoured to be £28m a week so clearly that’s getting paid by someone whose assets haven’t been frozen so all is not lost presumably.

Actually BBC does mention this to be fair. It says the programme has been printed and made available to the media - interesting to hear from anyone at the game today how many (if any) area available to supporters (or in hospitality areas)

Interesting quotes from Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta in the matchday programme (which is no longer on sale to the public, but still provided for members of the media)

Ebay is flooded with copies selling for £9.99 upwards

It’s an interesting one as on this occasion programme had already gone to print but if no buyer is found by the next home match would they still do a print copy??

Putting a non league hat on I find it incredulous that a club like Staines town will likely be playing in the combined counties league next year given they’ve always been competitive over the years. It would be bizarre if no buyer was found and amidst crippling debts a phoenix Chelsea FC joined them at Step 5

Yes indeed the club lied and gave out 3,000 copies to corporates free of charge.
I was at the match and none were on sale yet food and drink outlets were open as usual.
I have a subscription with Reach Sport so I guess subscribers will still get their copy.
Once again this club has let down the ordinary paying fans, the game is dead.

I'm not a Chelsea collector, but I don't think this is unique on ebay?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184666308746?mkevt=1&mkpid=2&emsid=e90001.m43.l3160&mkcid=8&bu=43206417597&osub=b53863a5b8bf2fa802514bb91986a40b%257ETE81002_T_ALL&segname=TE81002_T_ALL&crd=20220315033500&ch=osgood&trkId=0AD3955E-012E2BD6C38-017F8A967381-00000000000BC544&mesgId=3024&plmtId=700001&recoId=184666308746&recoPos=1&sojTags=osub%3Dosub%2Csegname%3Dsegname%2Ccrd%3Dcrd%2Cch%3Dch%2CtrkId%3DtrkId%2CmesgId%3DmesgId%2CplmtId%3DplmtId%2CrecoId%3DrecoId%2CrecoPos%3DrecoPos%2Cchnl%3Dmkcid

£4.79 a copy, free postage and multibuy discounts

If Chelsea don't produce printed ones to be dished out to the thousands of corporate hospitality fans, but do produce a digital version, I'm sure there will be a programme dealer who could have top quality ones made up from the digital file.

I know of a Chelsea supporting programme dealer who produces some absolutely excellent 'print from digital' programmes for England away matches for example

Chelsea wage bill £28,000,000 each and every week?
The sport's f*cked at the 'top' level.
Good luck to anyone who's happy to support such nonsense.
