I've got a Sheff Utd programme from a 81/82 League Cup fixture at Bramall Lane v York City. It's got various misprints throughout. For example in comparision with a fully printed copy it's got the match details and opponents missing from the front cover and the 'our visitors' section is blank along with a number of other pages.

Would a mis-printed copy like this hold any additional value?

Programmes are not like stamps where a printers' error , like the queen's head with a moustache, 'escapes' and can become valuable. In fact I would not want a misprinted programme unless I could not get a proper one, and only then as a filler. With errors they are probably worth less!!

I have a Norwich V Preston (LC) one from 1985 where the black print has not lined up with the colour on the cover. Needless to say like others I have since replaced.

I have a Burnley programme from the early 70s where there is just a blank space where the teams should be printed. Also, there is no number where the 'lucky programme number' is usually printed.

I don't think it's worth anything, but it's nice to have something 'different' in my collection!

I have a few misprinted Everton progs:

Cardiff H 1961 with 4 blank pages
Liverpool H 1985 with several blank pages..

Seems to me that they are worth a bit more since there won't be many of them around.

I have 2 copies of the 1980 European Cup final programme, one of which had Nottingham spelt incorrectly on the front cover. I paid about the same for both copies.

And anything with "NOTTS Forest" is clearly a mis-print too No Laughing

Why aren't Notts. County called Nottingham County?

Because Notts County are just that, Notts County, they were called Notts for years, County got added later, where as we were called The Forest, and on the back of Notts becoming Notts County we added Nottingham to become Nottingham (abr - Nottm) Forest.

Cloughie once got a scoreboard shut down during a game bacause it said Notts Forest!

Ironically, because of boundary changes over the years, Meadow Lane is in the City of Nottingham, The City Ground being over the river is in Rushcliffe, which is in the County of Nottinghamshire.

Even I realise that Notts is the abbreviated name of the County (like Lancs.)

I think I'd have been peeved too at the Notts Forest mistake.

It happens all the time, and it used to really wind me up. Now I see it as being simillar to English people confusinf Canadians for Americans, and Kiwi's for Aussies - it might be annoying, but mostly people do it in error, rather than malice.
