I am not sure what the original poster's issue is, but for several months I have been unable to log in to this forum on a couple of laptops.

Whenever I use the log in page, it never recognises my password, and even when I do a password reset it doesn't let me in.

Most of the time I just browse the conversations without logging in, so it's not an issue, but when I do want to post something on the forum (like this) or check my personal messages, I have to use one specific laptop which still has Internet Explorer (!!) from which I am still logged in, in order to post!
What are you hoping for on a free to use football programme forum ?
If you are that concerned, I'd suggest you stop using the site and request for your account and all previous posts be removed
What am I hoping for?

Well, call me naïve, but I was kinda hoping that any private information I provided was exactly that, private. How foolish of me, eh. My online banking is free to use too, should I expect that information to be secure?

As for the remainder of your helpful advice, and as you're the chap that clearly has the answers here, how about you show me how to delete my account, given that the admin has previously told me that it isn't possible.

Thanks.

The admin may not be able to remove you, but the site owner certainly can. You simply delete all rows from the database with your userid, it's a 2 minute operation

What do you mean by "password has been compromised"? what exactly has happened?

I will try and explain....

Google (if you choose to allow) can store your passwords and remember them for you.
I allow this to happen (I work for a market leading CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management) company and consult on this on a daily basis) as I feel confident Google is secure.

I have since been notified by Google that a site that I have a password on has been compromised - I don't know to what extent or the exact data that has been breached - All I know is that Google have warned me and suggested I change my password with urgency.
The site is this site.

This happened back in May 2021 when I first made this post, I changed my password and warned everyone else to do the same.
It has now happened again.
In the same period, no other site I use has had known user details compromised, let along twice in just over 6 months.

I appreciate as Andy has pointed out, it's a free site but so are the most of the big social media companies etc etc.

Hope this helps

So are we saying there has been a data breach of emails and passwords? in which case that's quite serious and Craig needs to investigate asap.

If there's no data breach, then carry on.

I have messaged Craig about this thread. Hopefully he will let us know what is going on.
Cheers, Jamie.

Good day all and Merry Christmas!

Google Search Console shows no known issues now, or at any point in history, reported on FPC.

There is nothing to see here

Thanks for checking Craig, but I strongly disagree that there is not a problem somewhere with the site.

Here is a screen-shot of the message received from Google:

and once clicked to find the site

I have covered over my email address but can assure everyone that this was my email received legitimately from Google on the 15th December at 09:19

I am not trying to be a nuisance but perhaps you could have checked with me what the issue was before dismissing what I have highlighted.
