The world seemed plastic free in those times.

1966 world cup match day tickets stuck in in a scrap book with cellotape

I have tickets to the final tomorrow but I have already ordered my programme online (don't want it getting trampled under my seat if I get it at the ground), my souvenir tickets and a match t shirt. I hope to get a official match scarf as well tomorrow. There's not a vast amount of stuff to actually obtain that is actually 'Final specific' to be honest.

Lets hope it's coming home!

Enjoy the match Dorking, so jealous as I lost the tickets I was due in 2020 with the reballot system, it didn’t end up being the 50th birthday present I was promised!
I have waited my 51 years for tomorrow and sadly it is not how I had expected it to be. I have turned down the opportunity to watch it in London as I just can’t risk getting caught on track and trace due to my work. Therefore will be at home, not quite the atmosphere I was hoping for and the 8pm Sunday kick off doesn’t help either.
Saying that, I should be grateful to be here, I am around to see a major final and I have family who love me.
I still believe that this is our best chance of success, I believe the format of the tournament has given us such an advantage with regards to travel, home fans and I cannot see this tournament format ever being in place again.
So, come on England and to anyone who is at the game tomorrow, cherish those memories!
Take care everyone and enjoy the game.
Best wishes
Holtie Thumbs Up

Hi infoman
If the programme was genuine and in good condition I.e. not one of the later reprints and the ticket was say for the final and semi, I would expect it to go for around £220-£250, so sounds about right.

Just reread the thread, implies cup final tickets in which case about 80 odd quid short but seeing as donated and no fees etc about right.
However, my wife has just been looking at the news and as I write independently mentioned the story!
Here it is! The shop did really well getting £200!!!!! I would say in that condition £150 tops for the lot!

I doubt I’ll be around for a major final, better chance with my adopted country in 2026 if some of the youngsters we have coming through now and playing in Europe develop.

Still, looking forward to the game tomorrow. May the best team win.

I sold an authentic 1966 WCF programme in excellent condition a couple of years back on this site for seventy pounds.

If only I’d known that two very rare events like Covid and England getting to a final were going to happen, I’d have hung onto it.

And before anyone starts, it’s tongue in cheek coming from a Scot/Yank.
