Managed Payments is becoming a nightmare scenario.
I have just checked my E Bay "Account" then "Payment Options" and I find out that I am now being charged a 35p listing fee for each Buy it Now rollover.
I am a Private Seller and I have never had this before. EBay says I get 1,000 free listing per month but obviously no longer for rollovers.
I think my love affair with E Bay is rapidly coming to an end. |
Now sorted with E Bay and we are friends again! It was a glitch and they have confirmed that under Managed Payments Private sellers still have their monthly allowance of free listings. |

I’m banging my head against wall with this, how quickly does it take for payment to come through via EBay now?
At least with Paypal it was insistent, Sold item Sat now Monday night and still says payment ‘processing’ but expects me to post item to seller.
It was only a relatively cheap item £9.25 and they’ve charged me a £1 fee! Think it will be last time i use eBay |

I was supposed to go live with managed payments today.
In preparation I spoke to Ebay last week and I was led to believe that items that sell for example, Monday, the payment will land on Thursday.
Needless to say, I didn't go live today and now have a call booked with somebody in the managed payments team for tomorrow afternoon to discuss why not and several questions and concerns that I have. |

Are you sure it is ONLY £1 ? if you are a private seller on managed payments it should be 12.35% + 30p per transaction. _________________ Ipswich Town programmes required, please message me if you are able to help

Been using it since last July/ August time, was wary at first but not a problem at all, you soon get used to it after a couple of weeks. Annoying that you don't get any payments in over the weekend though, its just Mon - Fri.
In relation to the comment above about the order on Saturday you should get that through tomorrow if all is working right. _________________ ebay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/footballstickershop

I have to admit I have used ebay for almost 17 years but I am not happy about these new arrangements. Too many negative comments on here which are setting my alarm bells ringing - I liked the immediacy of selling an item, buyer pays and the money lands in your PayPal account straight away. Theoretically, why should you have to wait for your money in this age of instant transfers and fast payments? Think I will take my chances on the heathen world of facebook pages and the trusted members of this forum in future - already had a bit of success on Fbk and no fees to boot. Can anyone convince me otherwise?

Managed payment works Ok for me , just have to wait a day extra for the payment to go to your bank account , and a month for your financial statement , but fees are not much different to paypal. Printing packing slips a little bit different , and you can not make postage refund until after you have marked the item as despatched. |

Perhaps I,m doing it wrong but I just let any money paid to me sit
in the PayPal account, then I transfer to my current account at a later date.
Transfer is quick & easy...... _________________ RESPECT..................

Agree, but PayPal are not involved in Managed Payments.

Once Ebay send email about sale it is safe to send item, the money is transferred into your bank account on a daily or weekly basis, your decision. _________________ Ipswich Town programmes required, please message me if you are able to help

Bit of an update getting my head around this now,
se20blue yes it was only £1 fee, not really sure how that comes to be if its the 12.5%, i did click the payment option of daily, and money has now been transferred to my bank account today (Tuesday) maybe we shouldn’t expect payment at weekends like you say. |

Is there an Ebay deadline for doing whatever is required for managed payments? |

If you want to change to weekly payments then on your E Bay account select:
Account > Payments > Payments
From here you can view Transactions / Reports / Payment Schedule (including changing to weekly payments or vice versa.
All change is unsettling but there is nothing to fear from managed payments.
If anything I think it is easier and it works out slightly cheaper than previously. |

So.....
Normally a seller pays the Final Sellers Fee & Pay-pal money transaction fees on Ebay....
So with this new system......
Does this mean that if a buyer pays by "Debit Card" (& not by Pay-pal) the seller only pays a Final Sellers Fee and No money transaction fee??? |

It does not matter how the buyer pays the fees are still the same. Just you now pay one consolidated fee which replaces 2 different fees. |

Date differs depending on when you are asked by ebay to register. I had to register by 15th January , a friend of mine was back in October. |

Post subject: E Bay changes - Managed Payments |
|

Following on from my earlier post, I finally went live with managed payments this Wednesday.
None of us, myself included, like change when we are comfortable with how we operate anyway, but so far all appears good now that I have got my head around it.
I was told that my first payout would be next Monday, but it actually landed in my Bank account this Friday, so I'm off and running.
For those like myself who are "busy" on Ebay, it may take a little getting used to regarding monitoring the payments (I have had nearly fifty sales since Wednesday that are in limbo), but I feel that after a few days of working this way, I will be completely in control of what is going on again.
Also, when I spoke to Ebay this week, I was advised that they are looking to make the payments immediate, like Paypal do, later this year once everybody is on the system. |
