When the Scottish Cup early rounds are starting I am always drawn to the exotic names of some the teams.

One such team being Gala Fairydean.

So I was very pleased to pick this item up from a fellow French Collector.

No doubt a warm up match for the French national side, who triumphed 8 ( Eight) - 1.

Enjoy...

So nice to see the small clubs featured in photos rather than the so-called Big 6. Keep them coming.

You may have seen this when I posted it a couple of months back, or you may not....

Fabulous image. This was played a couple of years after Gala’s new stand was built. Now a grade A listed building, the stand is apparently a great example of brutalist and modernist Scottish architecture. I have visited when Gala have hosted Carlisle in pre season friendlies and the stand is definitely a talking point. Must admit, I didn’t find it a thing of beauty.

The brutalist architecture has led to the stadium being nicknamed “the San Siro of the borders”. I wonder what the French players made of it.

The image below makes the stand look a lot less grim.
