Has anyone ever come across one of these before? The match is Italy 2 v Austria 1. It took place 22 Feb, 1931 in Milan. The competition is the Central European lnternational Cup. Size is 8 ins x 6ins. The seller thought it was a match card. Were these sold at stadiums or nearby shops? Fantastic illustration on the front, which looks like it is signed by the artist. Just wondering if other countries produced these, or were they just for ltaly fans? Is it worth a small fortune ( joking) ? Thanks for any help.

Fishy, it would make a great greetings card wouldn’t it ! A translation of the words on the front is :: Top word ‘ Diary’ bottom words ‘ Rossi lda notebook’ . Looks like a talented artist was employed to illustrate the national teams matches during the 1930s. Mussolini was big on promoting the national team during this period. World Champs twice.. Was Rossi lda the artist? The back of the card is a write- up of the game.

There were some stunning artworks completed for a lot of football related items back then.
I had no idea about the Mussolini involvement but can see why he would take that view at the time.
I would suggest that it would make an expensive greetings card if the original was used!
