Does anybody understand the charges for selling on EBay/Pay Pal?, I have bought programmes for as little as a£1 plus postage and wonder how much the seller actually got. Any ideas anybody ??

It can vary but ebay take 10% and paypal takes 3% (also same percentage of postage)

So if you sell for £1 you actually receive 87p

Ebay also does fairly regular promotions where fees are capped at £1 for each item. So if you sell something for £100 the fee is only £1 rather than £10

Sid, I think Paypal takes 30p on every transaction plus 3% and as you say, e-bay takes 10%.

Anyone selling for £1.00 including postage, loses 39p to Paypal and 10p to e-bay, thus earning 51p, which would not cover any postage charges from the post office.

PayPal take 30p + 3% therefore 33p not 39p.

No, under the new Ebay managed payments PayPal is no longer but FVF's are 10.9% + 30p per transaction + VAT @ 20% in addition to the monthly shop charges.
