Hi

In the 42/43 Leyton played their home games at West Ham's ground (they returned to their own ground the following season)

Does anyone know if they issued programmes whilst they were at West Ham?

I wish I could answer your query. I have never seen a Leyton Home programme from 1942/3, played at Upton Park. Some home games were played at Walthamstow Avenue and Eton Manor.

One of the reasons that Leyton moved back in with Clapton Orient for the 1943/4 season were because of the poor attendances.

They moved again for the 1944/5 season to the Hare & Hounds.

Thank you for that, really helpful!

The games mentioned in the West Ham programme as being played at the Boleyn are (all 42/43 season):

26 Sep v Hitchin Town
10 Oct v Slough
17 Oct v Wealdstone
31 Oct v Barnet
21 Nov v Golders Green
05 Dec v Ford Sports (Cup)
12 Dec v Clapton (Cup)
19 Dec v Southall
26 Dec v Walthamstow Avenue
09 Jan v Finchley

1. Do you know of any others?
2. Do you know what cup competition for Ford Sports and Clapton? London Senior Cup perhaps?
3. Were all the league games in the Herts and Middlesex Combination?

Thank again

Simon

The Final was won by Cambridge Town who defeated Walthamstow 4-1 in the Final. Walthamstow must've been the Southern Section winners?

West London Observer 19 February 1943

A fixture notice said this match was to be played on Eton Manor's ground Temple Mills.

Another Cup competition!

27 March 1943 - Daily Herald - London

There is some info on the whu programmes webpage with reference and states that no programmes were issued.
