Hi all,
Odd one here, come across an advert, I quote

"Not sure if this is the best place to sell this programme but it was discovered when clearing out my father's belongings after he passed away. The programme is Manchester United vs Ipswich town dated 4 th February 1958 I believe after research the programme is after the devastating plane crash that killed some of the Manchester United football team, my research shows that the programme should never have gone to print, the programme has been kept in a frame, so it's not been played with and has been kept closed for many years. The programme does not show any of the Manchester United team. I have seen one of these programmes was expected to bring 10k in auction, however I can not see what the actual amount achieved was so I have priced it realistically to sell and I'm open to negotiations"
He is asking 4k for it, I am not interested at all, just curious.

The programme cover clearly shows it is against Wolves, and dated 8th Feb. though it does show an action photo from the MU v Ipswich Cup game on the cover, as it was only 2 days after the Munich crash, surely the programme would have already been printed? so why leave the line up blank? His research seems poor at best!
Might be one for Leslie?

Thanks

Looks like the image used has been ripped from somewhere else as the > is embedded in the image (hope that makes sense)

Not just the opposition, the date is on the cover, clearly showing but he is saying it is dated 2 days BEFORE the disaster. If it was mine I would have done better research!

This does sound very suspicious, however assuming someone met this guy to discuss the validity of his incredibly rare programme, how would you confirm or contradict this?
