I have a fabulous old match ticket for the above match played at Bolton Wanderers old ground, Burnden Park.

It was played under the auspices of Lancashire Football Association, and the ticket refers to the Players of England v Players of Scotland.

It was a Charity Match to raise funds for the families of the victims of the Edge Green Colliery Fund Disaster Fund.

I have tried google but can’t find any details, in particular the players who turned out. I suspect they were a collection of Lancashire based players.

I would love to learn more of the match played on 7 December 1932.

Can anyone help?

Thanks to a superb contribution from Rocky, I can now update the details as follows,

England XI

Middleton. Southport
Jackson. Liverpool
Finney. Bolton
Nuttall. Rochdale
Gray. Oldham
Robinson. Bury
Briton. Blackburn
Dix. Blackburn
Harper. PNE
Jones. Burnley

Scotland XI

Hacking. Oldham
Chester. Bury
Price. Accrington
Morrison. Liverpool
Watson. Blackpool
McMullan. Manchester City
Robbie. Bury
Gibson. Bolton
Black. Manchester United
Galloway. PNE
Cook. Bolton

Scorers
England : Harper (2) Jones (2)
Scotland: Black

Attendance: 2, 837

Referee: A. Fogg ( Bolton)

Fogg went on to referee the 1935 FACF , and in doing so created the favourite trivia question.....

Q. When did Fog(g) last end a Cup Final?

(I must update my IT and upload the photo of the ticket & stub!)

Before NMW says it, shouldn't that be 'England X' Or are we missing one name?

This is a match that you could not hold today. Twenty two players playing for England and Scotland all from the Lancashire area. Anyone like to try and pick 22 players from todays teams?

The missing England striker was Cunliffe of Blackburn.

Apologies!

With Baltimores permission, here is an image of the ticket which is excellent and I would imagine extremely rare.
