Im after a bit of advice, ive been offered 2 programmes from a tour you took downunder in 1987. They are Cantebury XI (30 Mar 87) and Auckland (1 June 87)... Just wondered what sort of value there is in these as i cant find them on ebay, completed ebay listings, google or on Barretts Everton Progs forum!!!!

Cheers

Craig,

Have you seen the progs in question ??

I have a couple of progs from this tour .....

Winfield Super Series v Canterbury X1 & Auckland X1 Red Cover)

and

Winfield Socceroos Australia v Everton (Red Cover)

If they differ then I would be very interested in them.

Thank You.

Thanks a lot ....

If they are the two I have then they are collectable but not classed as rarities.

Difficult to say but I doubt they would go for more than £20.00 a piece.

I think I agree - it's difficult to value cos not a common offering on ebay etc. - some people put a high premium on games played a while back particularly if played on the other side of the world. I think some have a tendency to overprice them tho - and when that happens the buyer should be inclined to refuse the opportunity to purchase.

So you think £20 is the maximum price?

Cheers

That takes me back.
I went to both of those games, during a nine month trip through SE Asia & Australia. I actually had a drink with Howard Kendall in Christchurch when my girlfriend went over and introduced us. I would never have had the cheek. He was a fine man.
I didn't buy a programme though, it never crossed my mind in those days.

I went to the game against Canterbury and got my programme signed by Bobby Mimms, Gary Stevens, Derek Mountfield, Kevin Ratcliffe, Kevin Sheedy, Paul Power and Trevor Steven. Must be about time Everton came back to Christchurch for another game...
