Sad to report the passing of one of Celtic's finest strikers, Harry Hood, aged 74, after a battle with cancer.

Joined the Bhoys in 1969 after 2 spells at Clyde and a 3-year sojourn at Sunderland, he scored 123 goals in all competitions for Celtic and over 70 for Clyde. Later spells at Motherwell and Queen of the South weren't so successful but he also played for San Antonio Thunder and scored 10 goals there in 1976.

Later ran a string of pubs and diners in the Glasgow area - some of our members may have paid him a visit or two.

Here he is slotting a penalty home for the Bhoys in a cup game at Cowdenbeath in 1971, the 4th goal of 5 past Jim McArthur, the beleagured Blue Brazil keeper.

RIP Harry
