Following on from my recent posting about issues of the American Soccer League (ASL), regarding the New York All Stars v Celtic 1951, played in USA, I thought you may find these other items of a similar nature, of interest, that may constitute a match day program I the absence of a conventionally produced program.

These are:

FC Shalke ( GER) v Wolverhampton Wanderers 26/5/1963

Everton v Aberdeen 27/5/1956

Everton v FC Schwaben 30/5/1956

All games played in New York,USA.

Are there any fans of these clubs who can confirm if another program was produced for these games, or can I regard these items as programs etc.

Over to you Forum Members....

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian

These are regarded as programmes because I suspect nothing else was produced, now I am only 99% certain based on what I have seen from the Manchester United Tours of 1950-1952-1960. United played Tottenham Hotspur in New York in 1952 and a "proper" programme was produced and there was no ASL sheet covering that game.

I can only comment on the United aspect but I am pretty sure what you have are what other collectors would call the team sheet/programme.

Hope This Helps Wave

I haven't seen anything other than this issue for the Schalke v Wolves fixture in over 25 years of collecting, therefore, I would class that as the matchday programme/teamsheet.
