As members may recall, following the death of organiser Mick Brodie 18 months ago, Nick Westwell (stanley nick) and I agreed to become joint organisers of the well-established annual Sheffield Christmas Programme, Memorabilia and Badge Fair at the prestigious venue of the Royal Victoria Holiday Inn Hotel, Victoria Station Road, S4 7YE, which this year is being staged on Sunday December 30 (11am-2pm).
Previously the size of the room used for the event restricted the number of traders to six, but by switching the Fair to the Ballroom it has already attracted thirteen stall-holders:
Michael Hewitt (LUFCPROG).
Rpb Frowen,
Lee Hermitage (NWM Football),
Alistair Loftley,
Colin Boulter,
Tom Roe,
John Penistone,
Ron Pearson,
Soccer History Magazine,
Stuart Eyre,
and Bob Brown (beaudog),
as well as Nick and myself.
As we have switched to the spacious Ballroom there is plenty of space for additional traders or collectors with surplus stock to offload. For details, email [email protected]

Keep up the good work lads.

Nick, I've got your poster, but could do with a head on scan so I can print a few off and get them up at a couple of the local footy centres.

I will keep updating the thread on the Blades forum throughout December.

I understand that I've been offered a centre table so punters can be rest assured there will be at least one good looking stall holder Laughing

Two more traders will be standing at the SHEFFIELD FAIR THIS SUNDAY:
Leading badge specialist, Terry's Badges plus Tom Johnstone (a collector from Lincoln).
The Fair looks set to maintain it's reputation as one of the best in the North!
BE THERE IF YOU CAN!

On behalf of Nick Westwell and myself, may I express our appreciation to the 14 traders and 111 paying patrons who attended the Sheffield Fair yesterday.
It was consequently the most successful fair at this venue for several years and fully justified two of our decisions:
1). to switch the event from the hotel's much smaller Assembly Room to the so much more spacious Ballroom; and
2). to switch the event from midweek to a Sunday.
We already have three firm indications from other traders not present today that they wish to stand at next year's fair, which augurs well for next year's Christmas Fair at this venue!

Thanks for organising the fair Gordon, the room is huge compared to when I've been previously.

Thanks to Gordon and Nick for organising a well attended fair at Sheffield on Sunday. It was good to see such a large space occupied by such a good number of dealers. Trade was fine and people were nicely chatty. It is one to put in the diary for next year.

My intention was to go to this fair but with the wife having a bad cold i decided it was a political thing not to travel without her.Not worth the abuse!!
Sounds like a great day out.I am already saving up for,and looking forward to,next years event.

Just like to express my thanks to Gordon and Nick for the job they are doing at this event.

Feedback I received was very positive and a lot of the lads who came stayed for quite some time.

Last year went to Leeds, Lincoln City, Derby and Accrington fairs, and I enjoyed them all (despite being told at Leeds, that Sheffield United were the dirtiest team in the championship and that Leeds were going to walk it). I'd expect nothing less. Laughing

Would like to get to more fairs but junior football gets in the way at times.

So just want to say thanks to everyone who puts in the time and effort to organize, the stall holders (nice meeting Beaudog at Sheffield) and to the punters themselves who attend these events.

There appears to be have been more fairs over the last 18 months, and that can only be a positive.

Regards Sharrow
