Head out to Tynecastle on Sunday for what is probably the biggest game in our 110 year history. It's going to be a great day out because we can not lose - we are expected to get beat so anything over and above that will probably be construed as the biggest Scottish Cup shock ever.

Am lucky to be getting a lift on the day with a group of supporters from Dalbeattie, so might even be able to have a sasparilla or five pre match, a rare luxury indeed as I usually go to every game in the car.

This will be Talbot's seventh different opposition in the Cup, a record for a non league side. It is our second meeting with Hearts, we narrowly lost there 1-0, and I won't mention the wang eyed linesman who wrongly chalked off our "offisde" equaliser in the 94th minute as it only upsets Tynie. You can see it on youtube....

The odds for the game have been very diverse. When we were given the very generous odds of 14/1 to beat Ayr in the last round, like many Talbot fan I saw the opportunity for some easy money and my £20 saw a return of £300. I withdrew £280 immediately, and will close down the account once the £20 I had left in has either made me a few more £hundred or left me with nothing. Bets on the day?

Big bookmakers in London aren't going to be checking that our left back Gordon Pope is the team's penalty taker (and he's netted one in each of the last two games as well from the spot) and I've got £3 on him to open the scoring at Tynecastle at a very generous 66/1, although you can get 100/1 in other bookies am reliably informed. That's £201 if it it happens, for less than the price of my pre match sasparilla. Also got Talbot to win 1-0 and 2-1 at 55/1 and above, so another £4 each on these would also net £200 plus were the impossible to happen.

You've got to be able to dream in this beautiful game of ours, and I'm helping mine on it's way with six of these kind of bets. Believe me, if we win 1-0 and Pope's the scorer am going to have a two or three day party!

EEKA PEEKA PUKKA PO folks!

Good luck John, have a fantastic day and may at least one of your bets come in.

For those that read Programme Monthly my regular monthly article in the next issue (March) is about Scottish Cup football, and writing it this week I started off with a paragraph on Talbot's exploits. I managed to find a couple of Scottish photos here that went with it quite well, even though sadly Talbot aren't featured pictorially.

UP THE BOT !!!!!! Easy

Forgive me if I dont wish his team good luck Wink

Last time we beat Talbot (miles offside by the way), we beat Hibs in the final 5-1. I wouldn't be averse to history repeating itself Thumbs Up

as long as the linesman isn't bent!

Suitably amended Tynie!

So the dream is over and by the look of it, no luck at the Bookies either.

Great effort and well done the Bot on raising their profile and doing junior football such a service.

You win some, lose some Pete. Great Cup campaign and new grounds visited at Wick, Cove Rangers and Fraserburgh in first three rounds. Met some great folk along the way.
