Probably too large a file. If it's possible scan it again to the lowest possible dpi - 75 dpi for instance. And trim it to its minimum size.

Syd Owen as England captain. My guess is a Football League XI - also containing Bobby Robson & Jimmy Armfield.

The corrugated iron roof and the man in the bow tie makes this look colonial. Maybe a FA XI tour? Robson and Owen were both on the tours of the Caribbean and South Africa in 1955 and 1956..

1955 TOUR OF BERMUDA, JAMAICA, TRINIDAD, AND CURACAO BY THE (ENGLISH) FA

Manager: Joe Richards
Trainer/Coach: Harry Wright
Players:
Ted Bennett (Watford)
Geoff Bradford (Bristol Rovers)
Tony Emery (Lincoln City)
Peter Goring (Arsenal)
Vic Groves (Leyton Orient)
Grenville Hair (Leeds United)
Jeff Hall (Birmingham City)
Ron Heckman (Bromley)
John Hoskins (Southampton)
Jimmy Hill (Fulham)
Bedford Jezzard (Fulham)
Jimmy Kelly (Blackpool)
Jimmy Langley (Brighton and Hove Albion)
Gordon Nutt (Cardiff City)
Syd Owen (Luton Town) [c]
Stan Pearson (Bury)
Bobby Robson (Fulham)
Harry Sharratt (Bishop Auckland)

Notes: Jezzard, Owen, and Pearson had played full internationals prior to the tour. Bradford,
Hall, Langley, and Robson did so later. Sharratt was an amateur international and played
for Great Britain at the 1956 Olympics.

1956 TOUR OF SOUTH AFRICA AND RHODESIA BY THE (ENGLISH) FA

Players:
Bobby Ayre (Charlton Athletic)
John Bond (West Ham United)
Ted Burgin (Sheffield United)
Peter Harris (Portsmouth)

Bedford Jezzard (Fulham)
Johnny King (Stoke City)
Ray King (Port Vale)

Syd Owen (Luton Town) [c]
Bill Perry (Blackpool)

Bobby Robson (West Bromwich Albion)
Jackie Teasdale (Doncaster Rovers)
Co-Managers: Sir Leslie Bowker and Frank Adams
Trainer: Fred Ford

I thought it might have been an overseas tour Sid, but front row ,right hand side is the Wolves player Gerry Harris. Harris never won a full England cap, don’t think he went on any overseas tours either. He won England Under 23 caps 1957-58, but don’t think Sid Owen would have been playing for the Under23s at that stage in his career. Could they have played an overage player? Can’t spot Gerry Harris in any Football League 11 teams either. Could be one of those England 11 benefit / Charity games , late 1950s.l notice a young Don Howe is in the pic as well. Were England representative teams still playing forces teams during the late 1950s? Just noticed, the goalie looks like Eddie Hopkinson. Can’t spot Jimmy Armfield Pete.

There is a very similar picture in "Geoff Bradford, Bristol Rovers legend" by Ian Haddrell & Mike Jay.

Described as "The FA team who played against Bermuda on 12 May 1955"
Back row Harry Wright (trainer) Fank Adams (FA), Geoff Bradford, John Kelly, Ted Bennett, Peter Goring, Syd Collings (FA)
Front row Vic Groves, Jeff Hall, Jim Langley, Joe Richards (FA), Syd Owen, Bedford Jezzard, Bobby Robson, Johnny Hoskins

Thought it was him standing back row, third left, but can now see it isn't him after all.

Great work guys Thumbs Up

Badhand and Colchestersid, got it totally spot on. I was wrong as well Pete, the player to the right of Bobby Robson is the spit of Gerry Harris, but is , in fact, Johnny Hoskins. That can’t be Hopkinson or Howe either. Looks like some of those Summer tours were a mixture from all levels of football.
