What is the dullest football programme cover ever ?
A strong candidate is the new season Ipswich 2018/2019 programme (which I personally think is a dull as dishwater).
I have emailed the club to offer an observation and they say that they have received no other complaints or feedback.
So I wonder what they will produce for saturday's match against the Villa ?

The World Cup Final for 2018. Not really a Final programme, more like a post tournament brochure. No teams mentioned on the front cover and not even a line up for the finalists. Truly awful in every respect. Too many adverts. |

I've got one or two non-league issues where the single sheet insert has the home team's line-up listed as "from" (then a list of 20+ players), the away team's line-up listed as "not available", no editorial content whatsoever and the insert wrapped in an advertising brochure of 16 pages.
A programme technically but more of a local business directory.
Presumably free on entry (would a club have the nerve to charge for such an item?) _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/derby1884/sets/ |

Dull, yes - but it tells you who's playing and, in case you're confused, what day of the week it is.
Sunday football in 1967?.....now I am confused.

The last two take some beating - but for a decade or so my club, CPFC tried their best by issuing these for every game in that season:-
1957/8
1958/9
1959/60 & 1960/61 & 1961/2
1962/3, 1963/4, 1964/5, 1965/6 & 1966/7
1967/8
and finally, 1968/9
11 seasons of the little square jobs, and one with an extended version. And no dates or oppositions shown for all 12 seasons.
I think the 62/3 - 66/7 one is quite classy actually, as a one-off. But for over 100 games in a row? A nightmare for collectors.
Maybe that's why I loved collecting away programmes so much. |

Pete I store those years in my folders with the front cover open, so that you can see the date and opposition on 'page 3'
Luckily they are so small you can do this and they still fit in the sleeves
They are a pain though if you go to programme fairs and are looking for a particular issue - you have to go through stacks, opening them all to see the date! |
