Bloody cheek. Some of us have been ploughing our lonely furrow for years. Not our fault if there is little to report!

I'm still bubbling with excitement to see what this years Stoke badge is like (it's our last away game so still quite a wait), always nice to have a surprise!

Yeah but you're Match-Badge-Dave, the daddy on here.

You're a little scary being a Palace die-hard, you go to every ground and hunt the badge sellers down like Bear Grylls searching for a meal.

We're your disciples.

Very Happy

Its a bit sad when match badge makers stop, as I have had with West Ham/Swansea this season, so to see a new issuer on the block (Grimsby) lifts the soul (even if it doesn't mean any new treasure for me personally)

Really hope Palace hang in there and don't go down, it's a collecting desert in the Championship compared to the prem, even more so if Wolves go up too. Sad

Try being in league 2, Mansfield are suggesting they may not do all teams next year which leaves just 2.

Sad

'Tis true. Even perennial match-badge issuers Blackpool didn't bother for the year they were down in the basement with all us scumbags.

Plus Wimbledon did the dirty on us by having the audacity to get promoted.

PS. Palace won't go down Dorking. I'm not his biggest fan, but fair play to the Owl, he's going to keep you up.

Blackpool stopped as he had been banned by the Oyston's from home games.

I think he found it hard to go to games, sell badges then had to miss the game due to his ban.

I love surprises like that !
I got a Barnsley v Palace enamel matchbadge from the year 2000 about 5 years after the event - never saw one before or after, and it is still a bit of a mystery how it came about except I didn't miss the one and only that made it onto ebay!

Smashing badge mate! I love surprises like that too.

I was expecting some nice badges today but the postie can't get here. The thick snow has rendered our bit of Newport a ghost town, as like a lot of Wales, it's up a very steep hill and nothing but the odd 4x4 can get up here.

So no buses, no cars, and you need tennis rackets on your gutties to get over the shop to find they have no milk or bread. lol
It doesn't take much to bring Britain to a standstill - I wonder how they coped during the 'big freezes' of 1946/7 & 1962/3?!

Mind you, the postie can't deliver any bills either, so not all bad.

Smile

Love unexpected badges like these that you never expect to find, a really lovely badge.

On eBay in the distant past a matchbadge for a game V Cardiff suddenly appeared, forgot to bid and never seen it since, though I know Martin picked it up.

I even went to the match and hadn't seen badges on sale anywhere so probably had been a limited run sold in the pubs

Smile This is the Cardiff badge in question and a link to my blog post about its discovery - definitely one of my favourite surprise finds!

Nice badge, I enjoyed reading the narrative in the blog Martin.

There's a guy who sells at Cardiff games they call "Billy the Badge" - wonder if it was him?

Any League 2 finds yet this year chaps?

I have picked up a couple of the usual Dave-from-Brum badges but nothing more yet.

I think Wiggy said there would probably be nothing this season as Wimbledon and Accy Stanley went up.

League 1 is where its at for match badges in the EFL it seems

Martin, Mansfield this season is our only option I feel and they were going to pick games due to poor sales for some games and a production run of 100.

Accrington have gone up so we miss out plus any cup run might just produce another but I know what your response will be.....
