Apologies for making another request for information / intelligence from Fellow Forum Members.
This postcard was purchased from a chap in Indiana,USA.
The reverse of this real Photographic Postcard, tell us that the Printer is W.Williams of Castle Square, Carnarvon.
The advertising on the grandstand promotes ALLSOP`S Pale Ale ( which like many Beers was brewed in Burton upon Trent). Also Wakefield Motor Oil.
The side kicking off has a "West Ham/ Aston Vila" type Kit, but I don't think it is either of them?
Is the Printer following the team away from home?
Does Carnarvon have a proud football tradition going back that far?
Wikipedia tells me there was a Carnarvon United formed in 1906, and then after WW1 a team Carnarvon Athletic was formed playing in the North Wales Coast League.
Can anyone put me straight? I appreciate Carnarvon can be spelt different ways so I have used the spelling from the back of the postcard.
Over to you folks?

Prompt update,
Neville Evans of Aberystwyth has kindly suggested it is The Oval, Carnarvon.
I certainly wouldn’t wish to challenge his knowledge of welsh football.
Any other information would still be appreciated.
Cheers, Ian |

I can confirm to you that the postcard is indeed that of The Oval, Caernarfon Town. The stand on the postcard is exactly the same as that, that is in the History of Caernarfon Town, 'The Canaries sing again'. The kit worn by Caernarfon Town is also the same as that as on the postcard. Unfortunately I am not computer 'savvy' enough to download or upload pictures from the book. |

Ooopps!!! Just read the caption under the picture. The stand is identical in every respect, except it states 'The presentation of the North Wales Amateur Cup to Robert Hugh Roberts at the BANGOR GROUND (Maes Y dref). I am not computer 'savvy' enough to upload or download the picture from the book. It will also teach me to read the cation properly next time!!! |

Hi Grumpypants,
So do you think it is the Bangor City ground? |

Yes at Bangor, but not necessarily Bangor City. It just states Bangor (Maes Y dref). I am not sure of Bangor City ground playing site history, but I will find out for you. |

Yes, definetly Bangor City. Apparently they played at Maes Y Dref from 1876 to 1919. So I have learnt something new today!!!! |

Thanks to all.
I too, given the steer from Grumpypants had just tracked the Bangor FC info on the net.
Interestingly, the photo shows the opposition apparently kicking off, as the defending team is wearing the Bangor F.C. strip.
I don’t suppose anyone could identify the team kicking off in the dark shirts and lighter sleeves, and white shorts?
This may be a lot trickier?.......I wonder why there was a bumper crowd?
Perhaps I should research Carnarvon there rivals? |

Yes again. The strip is identical to that in the book as Caernarfon United. |

Well...well..
Yesterday I had an unidentified Postcard.
Today I am can confirm it is Bangor F.C. versus Carnarvon at the Maes y Dref ground in Bangor.
Carnarvon are the team kicking off. It’s a local derby hence the bumper crowd.
I would guess the date to be around 1910-12.
Thanks to the forum ! Well done to you all.
