Is at the Blackpool Carer's Centre, 147 Newton Drive, Blackpool FY3 8LZ.
This looks like being perhaps the biggest fair in the north this year at the moment with 14 dealers, plus Rob Frowen the organiser, in attendance. What could be better?
Please note, this is Rob's work, my included comments he's added when I put a comment on his FB page.
Should be an excellent day out.
MEET OUR 15 ‘PLAYERS’ AT THE PROGRAMME FAIR.
Well, I mean stallholders really but I thought it sounds better! .......
Rob Frowen: Organiser of the Fair. Also general helper and fundraiser at the Blackpool Carers Centre. Has more than 25 years experience dabbling in football programmes, tickets and other memorabilia. Goes under the name ‘Fylde Coast Programmes’
Mick Hewitt: One of Britain’s largest full time dealers. Has a huge range of top quality programmes, tickets, badges and plenty more. Specialises in Leeds United material as well as Big Match and England programmes.
Gordon Bennett: Trades as ‘Westward Programmes’ and has travelled today from Plymouth, Devon to be here. He has a wide stock of Big Match, league, Cup and non-league items. Has a particular bias towards West Country clubs.
Tom Roe: Local-based well known dealer from Lytham St. Annes. Has a great array of excellent quality antique sporting items including display items, menu cards, autographed photographs and much, much more.
Tony Kavanagh: Manchester based dealer who stocks a wide and varied range of quality football memorabilia in addition to a good programme selection.
Nick Westwell: Accrington based. Now a full time dealer. Has good stocks of programmes, other memorabilia and now specialises in enamel football badges, with very good growing stocks! Nick organises Fairs at Accrington Stanley FC on a regular basis and this is now an established and highly popular venue.
Andy Bowler: An established dealer from the Stoke-on-Trent area, Andy organises and runs a number of Fairs annually.
Paul Bailey: Runs the Midlands Fairs with Andy and has excellent stocks of fine quality football programmes, tickets etc. Paul, an established dealer, is sure to have many items to tempt you with.
John Holroyd: I will be bringing a good stock with me, but obviously with a Scottish bias, and our stall will be representing the mighty Auchinleck Talbot FC - look out for our black and gold banner on the day. We have the very best of Scottish non league programmes, including some 300 different non league in the Scottish Cup, Junior Cup finals and semi finals from the mid 1950s onwards, rare Scottish Junior internationals. We also have some good Scottish League and Cup from the 1950s and 60s. To cater for English non league collectors we have a reasonable selection of 1950s and 60s programmes. Tickets? We have hundreds, British and European. Badges? Again, we have a few hundred, mainly non league from all over the UK. We also have a fair few English and Scottish badges from mainly the 60s and 70s, with a few even earlier. We also have some unusual memorabilia including non league fixture cards going back to the late Victorian period and Edwardian postcards of league teams. Basically, we have something for everyone with a bit of luck.
John Cross: John is local to Blackpool and is well known and popular within the collecting fraternity. Also a long-standing fan of the Seasiders. Much of John’s footie material relates to Lancashire clubs and, unsurprisingly, predominantly Blackpool FC!
Terry Welsh: Terry is another well-known local dealer who’s traded in the town for many years. Books are his main theme but he does have many football programmes and lots of other suitable, sporting collectables available for sale.
Neil Fleming: Neil makes the short trip to us today from the Preston area and, unsurprisingly, collects North End programmes! He’s another guy who has become a regular stall holder at football programmes Fairs, particularly in the Lancashire region. He has lots of fine quality Lancs clubs’ programmes and, notably, some rare Internationals in stock at present.
Ronnie Kitchen: Ronnie and Caroline are Leeds-based and have travelled over from Yorkshire today. They will no doubt have loads of scarce and interesting football programmes to offer you, as usual.
Alastair Loftley: Alastair is a dealer who lives in the Derby area and a Derby County fan. He’s regularly seen standing at Fairs especially in those staged in the Midlands. Has a very good cross section of football memorabilia in his stock.
Alan Rigg: Alan is a local carer for his wife and is registered with the Blackpool Carers Centre. An Everton fan, he has lots of Merseyside football stuff and is trying to downsize his collection somewhat. So please try to help him out!
More news and information to follow in a couple of days.
Thanks for looking and, again, please fee free to repost this to your friends.

Am also down overnight on the Saturday. Anyone else? Anyone fancy meeting up for a few beers, or swally as it's commonly known up here? |

After a very fruitful fair at Swindon earlier today, I am now preparing fot the BLACKPOOL PROGRAMME & MEMORABILIA FAIR at the Carers Centre, 147 Newton Drive, Blackpool, FY3 8LZ this coming Sunday, February 4, from 10.30am to 2pm.
This is the first Fair to be held in Blackpool for many years, and organiser Rob Frowen deserves every congratulation upon securing the attendance of so many well-known traders. It should be well worthwhile for collectors to make the effort to attend.
Also, as an interesting innovation, the last hour (1pm to 2pm) will be devoted to an auction of a wide range of 40 items from vintage 1940;s programmes to an empty 1987 Blackpool Centenary Champaign bottle, from a Toffs shirt signed by Cyril Robinson, the last surviving member of the 1953 Blackpool Cup Final team, to Subbuteo sets, and from a 1928/29 Aston Villa v Burnley Central League programme to the very first FA Year Book published in 1948/49.
BE THERE IF YOU CAN - THERE WILL BE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!
As a relatively new dealer of only just over five years standing, I try to cover all aspects of second-hand programme collecting: Big Matches (Internationals, Finals and Semis); A decent range from virtually all League clubs in England and Scotland plus a few from Ireland (although with a slight bias for West Country clubs as I am based in Plymouth); I shall also have a wide range of over 400 English and Scottish Non-League Clubs programmes with me, including v League Clubs in the FA Cup and in Friendlies, (again with a slight bias for West Country Clubs); plus a range of Reserve and Youth team programmes and Teamsheets.
Because I travel widely throughout the country attending Fairs, often buying more programmes than I sell, I am constantly replenishing my stock, so collectors often find something on my stand that they are looking for!
If any collectors wish me to bring any specific items to this Fair, please contact me by email on or (preferably) before Friday January 19: [email protected]. |

Just been trying to make sense of the stock I'm taking down. Given that we have a huge stock nowadays, a lot of which we know we will never sell in Scotland at normal prices, we will be having at least two large £1 boxes which includes 1950s and 60s programmes and FAC Finals etc so some genuine bargains to be had. Our 1940s programmes - small in number - are no more than £3 each.
Excellent Scottish content, with something for everyone with an interest in the Scottish game. |

I understand that this Fair + the Auction raised a total of £1,553 for the Blackpool Carer's charity.
That makes the effort of taking part so worthwhile. |
