I can`t imagine the Spurs book getting that info wrong, and as Newton Heath did wear white at that time, i could be wrong about Spurs wearing the white shirts, i will check later on tonight and look at the captions for each photo

1898-9 Newton Heath club colours were White Shirts and Navy Knickers[ Love ]
