Sadly, it appears that Mick Brodie, a Sheffield Wednesday specialist dealer, and in recent years organiser of the prestigious annual Sheffield Christmas Programme & Memorabilia Fair, passed away last May at the age of 61.
It's a death that seems to have gone under the radar somewhat, certainly as far as this Forum is concerned. Even that doyen of the Yorkshire scene, Michael Hewitt, was not aware until last week.
Nick Westwell and I are to ensure that the Yorkshire Fair continues (see separate thread) at the Royal Victoria Hotel, Victoria Station Road, S4 7YE, on Thursday December 28 this year (11am - 2pm).
We shall be producing a Programme for the Fair and intend including a tribute in the programme to Mick.
If any Forum members have any recollections or thoughts they would like to be considered for inclusion in our tribute to Mick, please either send me a PM or add them to this thread.

Must admit there wasn't many Programme related folk at Mick's funeral.
Mick was a popular lad who liked his sport , Snooker , Golf , Racing , Cricket and obviously The Wednesday.
When I took the programme shop into my ownership following Mick , I spent a few evening at his house.
The one bit of advice that stuck with me from Mick was " never trust anyone " he told me that people would sell their Grannies to get what they want. I remember driving home that night laughing to myself.
How true were/are his words.
To say his passing was a shock was an understatement.
He officially retired the week before as well.
A programme with a tribute would be very fitting.
Gone but not forgotten old Mick.
Regards,Richard Letts.

I used to visit the Shalesmoor shop in the late 80s when a Sheffield United fan called Alan had it. I think he also previously had a shop in the flats opposite the old Jessops hospital. Alan was always very helpful.
In later years I bought a few items from Mick he was a good bloke.

Yes Alan was a big player. (Passed away 1994).
I know of some great collections out there but by all accounts Alan was only
5 off completing his home collection.
This went back to 1899/00 as well !!!!!
