For information - it appears that Ross County are not issuing programmes this season which means that the rush for team sheets is only likely to be enhanced! |

What a pity. Last season called at the shop at the ground and picked up a supply of programmes and purchased my usual shirts that I often wear om my programme stall at Newcastle under Lyme market on a Thursday. We stay at the caravan site right by the ground and as well as the shop there was a lovely bistro contained in the stadium and we had a really good meal. Favourite Scottish club. Come on the Staggies. |

They stopped issuing for cup games a few seasons back, and have now gone full monty.
Another club who, in reality, cannot be arsed. It should be compulsory at that level. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

Have they not got a supporters trust who might like to do a small run of programmes and make a profit from the sales and the advertising within it? |

Yes....but....what is a programme actually for?
We may not like the way things are heading but is the very notion of a "programme" being superseded by other, faster-moving media?
Personally, I'm probably in a minority of one when I suggest that the most likely way of maintaining regular programme issue is to reduce the page size dramatically (to, say, 16 at most), the price to no more than £1 and for clubs not to treat their programme as a marketing device first and foremost. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/derby1884/sets/ |

Hibs tried the 16 page basic concept and it bombed, hence they are back to "normal" issues, and its a very good programme presumably selling well.
If you put effort into something you're more likely to get results. If you go through the motions then people will see through that and just not bother buying. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

Glad it's selling like hotcakes!
Why do you assume a reduced-page issue is necessarily of lower quality, though? You've been around the hobby long enough to know that's a non sequitur.
If it didn't sell, then fine, that's tangible evidence that I'm talking bollocks _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/derby1884/sets/ |

Well the Hibs 16 pager was pretty good quality but eventually they went back to "normal" issues. If it had been a rip roaring success then presumably they would have stuck with it?
The world has moved on from the old days, and now it seems its a choice between a teamsheet or a 64-80 pager. It doesn't worry me too much as I don't collect modern issues outwith non league and Internationals. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

I'm with you derby. Less is more although I think that 16 pages is a bit too light. High quality 32 page programmes would be ideal for me. As it is, I'm getting ever closer to just saying no more for modern issues (it's taking some doing!). |

In the English League it is compulsory to produce a programme. Fleetwood do the bare minimum whilst trying to flog their on line issue. Personally I’m all for programmes being produced and my view is that Ross County are basically being lazy and reducing their advertising income amongst other things. Smacks of being very short sighted. |
