My initial thought was Cambridge United as my neighbour took my son to a final there in the early stages of the FA using the stadium.
What I can't remember is if it was a non league final, a play off or a JPS type final.

Perhaps that's what MCM meant by "Teaser" - throw a bit of triv out there and then tease us by never coming back to reveal the answer.

Very Happy Very Happy Laughing

I have a feeling this is a trick question and that the answer is Leyton Orient, who lost the Third Division playoff final in Cardiff in 2001, and are (now) a non-league English club.

Ignore the above, I now see it was 'to win' in Cardiff, not 'to appear'

I always thought I was a walking, talking football encyclopedia Mark, but I can honestly say I've never heard of them - I'd never have got that one.

Well played mate.

Wow, must've been a real thrill playing somewhere like that.
That's one to tell the grandkids for sure!

It was indeed and finished a remarkable season for us.......We did the domestic treble with our Saturday side of which 9 of the squad played for The Wishing Well, with whom we did the treble. We played the semi-finals at Anfield then the Final in Cardiff as Wembley was being rebuilt.

The prize for winning was an all expensive trip to represent England in The European Finals played at Porto's old ground but unfortunately we lost to a very strong Norway team in the Final.
