Orient 1962-63 - Help needed

[LOFC]

Need help completing Orient's 1962-63 season, a couple of requests;

- Do you know of any Friendlies, cup games played by Orient that season?
- Do you know any Minor Cups games played by Orient?
- Do you know any games played at Brisbane Road (LOFC) that season?
- Do you have any Orient programmes from that season?

I only need a handful of League, 2 League Cup and a couple of postponed from the Big Freeze, not even sure if programmes were produced for them.

Mainly after any friendlies from then, I know about Morton, A.D.O. (The Hague and Go-Ahead - I have two of those - but would like to know about any other friendlies that you know were played.

Orient Centenary First Day Cover (FA Cup on front)
Soccer Star; Dec. 15th '56, Apr. 9th '60, Aug 29th '53, Sep. 6th '68.

Luton home 1969-1996
Chelsea home 1988-2002
Spurs home 1999-2010

They played at Walthamstow on 10 December 1962. A friendly "floodlights inauguration". Lost 3-0 according to the next [22nd December, Birmingham] home programme.
They also sent a team to Romford for a game on 16 May 1963.

I`ve got programmes for those two but I think Mr.Millman has made it his life`s work to unearth the postponed Man Utd so there`s not much hope for the rest of us with that one!

Thanks for that, I didn't know about the Romford game.

Something tells me that I won't get the United game I think three home games were called off in the Big Freeze as well.

Well I did manage to obtain it some time back, here are the 4 pages + the ticket issued for the game that was postponed.

I think there are all told maybe 2-3 that have ever surfaced v Leyton Orient?

The issue for non-United collectors is that this postponed programme v Leyton Orient would fall into the category of being in the top 3 "Mega Rare" United postponed programmes, the home friendly v Everton from 1954-5, as well as the away friendly at Sheffield Wednesday in 1951-2 make up the trio in my opinion, so if and whenever they do there will be someone no doubt looking to pay the earth or sell his granny to do so.

I still need 3 postponed homes from the late 1960's and it is only the fact I refused to get drawn in to pay some daft prices that I am still on the lookout, but I actually paid more for the ones that I have mentioned above because the rarity was considerably higher than the 3 I still need and like sometimes in life you simply cannot get everything and if you did then what is left?, but in this hobby the byword is patience, it took me over 50 years to find all the 3 I have mentioned since I started collecting in 1962.
