I'm looking to sell these but whilst I know Stan "the Wham" Lynn, I don't know the other players on the photos. They are from his Birmingham days and have Evening Despatch backstamps.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Ron, photo 1 far left looks like a young Terry Hennesey before he lost his hair.He later joined Forest. An outstanding midfielder for club and country.Stan Lynn was known as a right hardcase. He terrorised a young Tommy Smith by telling him" lf you do that again son I'll break your leg". Tommy thought that's a good idea., why not have the opposition worried about when the crunching tackle is going to hit them. After that Birmingham v Liverpool game Smith used this threat himself against opponents.Hope this helps.

Hi Greg

I'll email you in a sec.

I did realise it wasn't the original Ron Saunders I'd be talking to!

Not this fella on the left - Palace v Pompey 1961

Cheers
Pete

Nothing at all to do with the photos, but just remembered that my granddad's local bookies shop was owned by Rons dad or uncle.lt was in Birkenhead, 1960s early 1970's era.l think Ron was a Birkenhead lad.? A top manager in his day.

He was from Birkenhead. Apparently he's now living with dementia.
