After three years at Bath City's Twerton Park ground, this season's Great West Programme & Memorabilia Fair, which takes place this Sunday (March 19), has been switched to Bristol in the hope of attracting a larger attendance:
Venue: Bristol Room, Bristol Rovers FC, Memorial Stadium, Filton Avenue, BS7 9BF.
Times: 10.30am - 1.30pm.
Admission: £1 (under-16's FREE).
Irene's Café will be open throughout for the sale of hot and cold food and drinks.
We have been fortunate to obtain a wide range of stall-holders, major national dealers to local collectors. They are:
MARK ADDICOTT (Bristol-based); Has an attractive array of mainly memorabilia, including badges, coins, cards, magazines and newspapers, shirts etc, many with a Bristol City bias. Email: [email protected]
ROGER AND TONY COOMBS (Cardiff based): The largest dealers in Wales with an incredible range of programmes and other memorabilia, particularly strong on Welsh material. Tel.: 02920-560014. Email: [email protected]
JOHN COSH (Bristol based): Mainly selling local videos and DVD's. Email: [email protected]
ANDY DAVIS (Bristol based): Has a large number of Bristol Rovers programmes going back to the 1950's that are surplus or duplicates to his own collection for sale. Email: [email protected]
KEITH DICKSON (Swindon based): Used to dabble 30/40 years ago, so has a good range of programmes, mainly from the 60's, 70's and 80's plus a good selection of Finals, England v Scotland etc. to sell. Phone: 07941-523911; Email: [email protected]
MICHAEL HEWITT (Leeds based): One of Britain's largest full-time dealers, Michael and his son, Alex, have a wide range of programmes, badges and other football memorabilia. They specialise in Leeds and Big Match items, besides covering the national club scene well. Also have some unusual overseas material. Email: [email protected]
MARTIN LANE (London based): A Chelsea specialist, who has stalls at a range of other fairs and also carries a wide range of items from other clubs. Email: [email protected]; Website: football-program.co.uk

Just to advise collectors intending to visit this fair that I try to cover all aspects of second-hand programme collecting on my stand:
Big Matches (Internationals, Finals and Semis);
A decent range from virtually all League clubs in England and Scotland plus a few from Ireland (although with a slight bias for West Country clubs as I am based in Plymouth);
I shall also have a wide range of over 400 English and Scottish Non-League Clubs programmes with me, including v League Clubs in the FA Cup and in Friendlies, (again with a slight bias for West Country Clubs); plus a range of Reserve and Youth team programmes and Teamsheets.
Because I travel widely throughout the country attending Fairs, often buying more programmes than I sell, I am constantly replenishing my stock, so collectors often find something on my stand that they are looking for!
If any collectors wish me to bring any specific items to this Fair, please contact me by email before 9pm on Friday March 17: [email protected].

As the fair organiser, I was pleased with the attendance of just over 80 at today's fair
I was pleased too with the range of items on sale. With one late addition, we finished up with a total of twelve stands, including two significant badge specialists, as well as the usual programme and memorabilia traders.
I should like to place on record my personal thanks to all the stall-holders and collectors who attended the event. They each, in their own individual way, contributed to the overall success of the event.
I must add that we received excellent co-operation from the staff at Bristol Rovers in staging the event.

A very enjoyable fair Gordon. Great job you did in organizing it. was great to be able to meet up with Morgan 1927 and cfcmartin1965. In future though I need to keep away from Mick Hewitt's stall as I always end up spending more than I planned there.

Ha, Past Pirate, as you will see from Mick Hewitt's comment, it's your spending, and that of others, at his stall, and those of the other dealers, is what hopefully will encourage them to make the journey down again next year.
Mick and his son Alex were up at 4am and set out from Yorkshire at 5am to attend, while Tom Roe left Lancashire at 3am (mind you he arrived at the Memorial Stadium at 7.30am!).
The life of programme and memorabilia traders is not all roses and honey!
