Can any Rangers expert help please. I know Rangers won the league and text in the programme refers to them possibly winning the league shortly. Did they win it on this day ? The scan shows the programme from the day and only relates to this match
As always any help appreciated
Eric

Statto.com shows that they won the league by 7 points and after this game they had three left to play and lost their final game so yes I presume that they won the title that day. A lovely programme

Title wasn't mathematically clinched that day.

Following the victory, Rangers led Aberdeen by 6 points with both sides having 3 games left

It doesn't matter about it being a title clincher or not Eric it would sell as well either way because of it's rarity. I've got a sheet with known Rangers pre war programmes, i'll have a look.

It isn't noted on the list but it is possibly just not known.

Hi Guys

Ive looked at the programme and think St Johnstone must have produced individual issues for games. It is unlike the Scottish National Programme of the time as it solely relates to the Rangers game including team line ups.
I note it is number 33. I don't know if they maybe started producing in 35/6 and this was the 33d issue.
I do know there was a one off programme in the 1920s I think v Arsenal.
I have never seen or heard of any other pre war St J issue. Has anyone ?

Also I've just read some of the programme and I quote
And we may take it that Rangers will be very keen to get the point that will make the championship secure.
Therefore with Rangers winning 2-1 they must have won the league that day
Confused
