Bit of a diversion, but can anyone identify this trophy please? Nothing on the back at all, just a 10x8" photo going begging.

Presumably intended to be the Wembley Twin Towers.

All help greatly appreciated as always. Thank you.

Well it isn't the Makita Tournament Cup, the Emirates Cup, or the Wembley Cup, because I've googled those.

It's not anything like the Full Members (Simod) Cup either Pete.

Maybe it was an individual trophy for the 'Player of a Tournament' or something mate?

Must admit I'm stumped.

I would concur and suggest its a man of the man award for a game there

Unless someone knows otherwise.............

It is a nice trophy though, I quite like it.

Although I'm terribly nostalgic for anything featuring the Twin Towers, I still can't believe some 17 years later that they were allowed to pull the buggers down.

Sacrilege at its most hideous that was.

I think it`s the FA Cup Final man of the match trophy, Sniffer Clarke holding it. He also won it in 1969 playing for the losing Leicester City team.

I think rather than man of the match award it could be the golden boot award , given to the winning goalscorer in the cup final. Not really sure because Charlie George boot 1971 is similar to Ian Porterfields 1973 . So why would Clarke 1972 be different ?

Well if the 1971-3 Golden Goal scorers got the trophy in your photo, Wullie, why couldn't the Men of the Match be given the trophy in my photo?

Clarke may have got both of them in 1972. I hope he had a big enough mantelpiece!
